New Stories for the MK4-MKD characters

How would you make stories for the characters from MK4-MKD? Just like how the characters from MK1-MK3 were upgraded to the MK 2011?

For examples:
- What if Reiko was in fact a lost son of Shao Kahn?
- What if Frost was Bi-Han's & Kuai Liang's long lost sister?

Well for one, I'd keep the family feud bull shit sparked by MK Annihilation to a bear minimum.

Frost was deliberately created to NOT be Sub-Zero's sister, to create the mystery of why she has the same powers as him which went on to be answered in Deception by the reveal that they're both members of a race of Cryomancers.

So making her his sister, making the reason she has the same powers as him be because they directly share blood, kinda misses the point.

What if Darrius is "really" sent by the Red Dragon to infiltrate Seido. Perhaps the Red Dragon is helping Havik or something.
