Darkest grittiest stage seen so far, i think. Kinda reminds me of Gotham City street level in Injustice. More for the overall tone rather than a specific item.

I could see a Stage Fatality where you hold your opponent and the soldier in the background walks to him and shoots an entire M4 magazine in his face

It is definitely a Special Forces or Outworld Investigation Agency stage.

Hopefully there is a stage for every group/clan. The new stage is the Special Forces stages...so here's hoping there is the Lin Kuei HQ, Black Dragon hideout, White Lotus temple, Brotherhood of the Shadow stage etc.

The Brotherhood stage could be a temple in Netherrealm dedicated to the worship of Shinnok.

Despite the fact that the Special Forces stage from MKvsDC was one of my favorites, it looked a bit too Stargate:SG-1 for my tastes.

This one looks considerably grittier, and that's good. It has character. Notice how slapdash everything is. It's like they've just begun to set up shop. I suppose it's also telling how they're still referred to as the Special Forces, instead of the Outerworlds Investigation Agency. I'm really hoping that we'll get to see the birth and development of OIA proper as the story mode unfolds.


That said, what I really want to see are the Netherrealm arenas, and the fact that we haven't seen any so far is worrying. MK4, for all of its flaws, had some of the darkest, otherworldly and thematically pitch-perfect arenas in the entire franchise, and they better fucking do it justice.
Another typical "chains&brimstone" arena just ain't gonna cut it, especially when there's Mythologies with its crazy-ass industrial techno-hell
and gigantic pyramids floating above an ocean of lost souls or some shit to draw inspiration from.


Also, remember MKD's Konquest?
Remember that there's an actual fucking city down there, populated by all sorts of ghouls, freaks and sorcerers?

Wouldn't it be awesome to not just hear about the different planes of the Netherrealm, but actually see them?

I have to co-sign this. I haven't been blown away by the stages so far although they are decent. They better do some justice to those MK4 stages. Actually, I was hoping for at least a couple of them to actually be used in this game in updated versions as well as perhaps some of the places we saw in Mythologies.

You linked the perfect stages T-rex. These elements made me a fan of the series, its hard to imagine Mortal Kombat without them. Same goes for the crazy chanting music.

Well for all we know it's a special forces outpost in Outworld, that's why it looks so slapped together.
