This is just a question that popped into my head, but do you think that characters that are coming back should have the same special move set, have some new moves but have some occurring, or should they have a completely new move set?

For me, I wouldn't mind seeing some new moves but have some of their specials from the previous game make a return. It's a bit refreshing to see something new with a character that is returning, that's why I thoroughly enjoyed Noob. His moves, while still having the shadows and such, he had brand new moves with the black hole that felt a heck of a lot more refreshing to play as and use against others.

So, what do you think?

Yeah I agree that there should be some new moves for the recurring characters. It's always refreshing to see updates on the moveset, as long as the moves are useful and fit the character (no more clones).

Also I think they should throw in a few completely new characters as well, we haven't seen a new character (beside Skarlet) since Armageddon. Just please. no 'replacements', like Jarek>Kano, and Kira>Kano, or Kobra/Evil Liu Kang. Netherrealm has shown now that they can give each character individuality and unique moves and styles.

Returning characters should have the same general moveset with some new moves. That's what Tekken does, and it works great. There's no need to reinvent a character's moveset when they already play like they should. Best thing to do is just tweak the moveset.

Now that MK is EVO worthy, they have to appeal to competitive players. And no competitive player is going to want to relearn their main's moveset from the previous game.
