As for new couples, we haven't really seen Johnny Cage and Sonya's relationship fleshed out from the comics it is alluded to that they have basically a love and hate relationship. They appear to be divorced with rebellious daughter which I find hilariously satire to the Hollywood lifestyle. If anyone has ever seen the film "The War of the Roses" I can see them going back in forth with hilarious dialogue like in that film.
