weapon clash - if weapons do or don't make a return i'd like to see a mini game where say scorpion and kenshi bolth do a weapon slash. Bolth human players must tap x as fast as you can and the loser falls to the ground. it's like a test of strength with or without weapons.

hari kari - if it were to return i'd like to see it be more of a mini game then more of a cinamatic. how this happens is you must hit 1 button and the other player must hit the same button on his or her controller. if he or she both hits the same button the person doing the fatality will connect the move. if he or she gets different button presses then the person doing the hari kari will connect this move on him or herself.

impoved tournament - this itself could replace arcade mode if the mk team and the fans really wanted it to. how this would work is you have say 5 characters per realm. everyone is entering the tournament for different reasons. say i choose scorpion in mk9 my 1st opponet would be sub -zero. i beat this character and a cutscene appears explaining more about scorpions story and what not. then i move onto say noob saibot. this time i lose in the tournament against him a option pops up saying. lose half your health and continue on in the tournament. quit now and your on the ranking ladder for 1 win. 1 special move for the next fight. i can't perform more than 1 special move in the next battle.

so i choose lose half my health and continue on but since i lost the fight the story for scorpion is different and if i beat the tournament i will unlock something different if i were to not lose at all. this type of mode adds alot of replay factor because it's different almost every time because of the path systom. next opponet i face is shang tsung i beat him and get another cinmatic scene explaing more about scorpions story and what not. it goes on like that for say another 5 more fights depending on the diffculty.

also if you go to the options there is novice which is very easy, warrior which is easy, protector which is normal, legion which is hard, and god which is very hard. say you win all fights in tournament on very easy you unlock there alternate attire for that character. win all fights on easy unlocks there stage. win all fights on normal unlocks there bio. win all fights on hard unlocks there alt bio. win all fights on very hard unlocks another fatality for that character. if you don't win all fights on any difficulty but still beats tournament mode then you unlock there cinamatic ending for that character.

say there is a total roster of 15 - 20 characters. in order for you to unlock every thing for all characters you'd have to beat the game 120 times on all difficultys. plus the mk team could add a two player tournament to double the fun. also the tournament mode could be brought online to show off your skills while unlocking things online or offline.

feel free to give back your opinion and views on these modes. hope you enjoyed. also feel free to add your own modes or update old modes in this topic.

I liked that MK vs DC featured mini-games during the fight, but I thought they were too much. But if weapons do come back into the series and they want mini-games in the fight, I can see this being something.

Interesting concept, despite it feels too much like the Free-Fall Kombat except people are performing finishing moves rather than seeing who gets to be on top and who gets to be on the bottom... But I would rather prefer that Hari Kiris gets left out of the next game.

Kind of harsh to not be able to perform moves. I'd say just leave the Arcade Mode as it's always been.

Rewards should be something as alternate costumes or possible unlockable characters. Not saying this is a rude way or whatever, but I fight all my way through the mode and all I get is an alternate biography, I just wasted a good amount of my time with this game just unlocking a biography that some would rather not care about.

Are you saying that I need to play the game 120 times with each character? Or just 120 times in general? That would be a shit load of time I'd be spending on each character... 120 times is a shit load of time in general! I'd say 50 the least.

They're good ideas though, I like reading what you put out. At least they're not ideas from a game I can so tell where it came from.

for the improved ladder - you'd have to beat it 120 times in all total with 15-20 characters. i don't see why not get rid of arcade. it's the same everytime so why not have something replace it that gives you stuff to achieve. plus when the mk team got rid of ladders i thought was a big mistake. now arcade mode is now even more boring.

the weapon clash - could happen in two ways on the ground and in the air to give it some dramatic effect.

hari kari - having to guess which button the person presses gives it some strategy instead of pressing the button combination faster then your opponnet.

I pretty much agree with Icebaby on most of this...I do agree with your statement about the ladders though. The 120 fights thing is too much. if you want that much replay value than why not just fight randomly generated characters between major character fights? Something on the lines of like what SC4 did maybe. As for rewards and stuff...there will obviously be trophies and achievements but the unlocks should be worth unlocking...just a bio... like Icey said...would be not worth the time. Unless maybe it involves a trophy/achievement for those whoring trophies/achievements but 120 is a high number. Hell,if I had to do that I better get platinum trophies for each friggin' difficulty and plus unlockables!
It would not be the first time something ridiculous would be in MK though...what was it 200 versus wins to get to fight Meat for his first appearance as a skeleton? its been awhile but yeah I remember it was a lot of wins...I think they had to be consecutive also right? I don't remember...am kinda overtired lol. I am usually sleeping right now and my lazy @ss is not looking it up heheh.
Interesting ideas though acidslayer.

The weapons are a bit of a sensitive situation. I don't want them standardized as before, but characters like Baraka and Kenshi can't really function correctly without them. There's always the possibility of making weapons special moves, but something doesn't feel right with that either.

Not crazy about the Hara Kiri idea. If those alities come back, the player should be able to perform them at any time. They're already somewhat cheap; why not make them easy? If your opponent is beating you while working on his/her second flawless victory, I say just let the other player go "fuck this and fuck you!" and end the match early.

As for the tournament idea, it's not bad, but I would rather see the effort placed elsewhere. The only part I seriously disagree with is the unlocking: IMO, everything should be unlocked from the get go. The only earned elements should be gameplay-irrelevant bonuses, such as concept art, music, or funny tidbits.
