The first commercial "Leak" was just a guy talking about rivalries within the MK universe. He talked about the rivalry between Scorpion and Sub-Zero, then he mentions the rivalry between Kitana and Mileena and finally the hate between Shang Tsung and basically everyone.

He did not confirm anyone as playable and how could he? He has no inside info that he shouldn't have.

This does not de-confirm Johnny as being in the game, he might not be, but Gamestop is not the place to find out. Official promos and the full playable game are the only place to find out.

Yeah, really hope Sonya and Johnny be part of that horrible collectors edition!

I dont know what to think about this roster anymore. With the DLC and everything, anyone could end up in the game. Fucking Tasia is a possibility. I cant even...

Johnny Cage and Sonya are not in the game! That would, be pointless. I can see dlc but don't want that. Even so I'd buy them, which I did already if thyre in the pass.

Watch them being in, destroying the chance for sektor and tanya.

I honestly wouldn't mind if ONE of them is in the pack but both? Right, and as if this dead horse hasn't been beaten enough but it really would make ZERO sense for both to miss out on a initial roster slot. They were both the only Earthrealm survivors, AND they now have a new dynamic to their relationship (which resulted in a whole new fighter!) that needs elaboration. Wouldn't make any sense to just sweep that under the rug. As for the commercial, I would have preferred Johnny to Sonya. At least in the initial game.

But back to that Kombat pack, I'd better at least get one of the following characters -

Baraka, Rain, Smoke, Shang Tsung, Noob, Nightwolf, Jade, Cyrax or Sektor.

Honestly I don't know why people get frustrated over these commercials.

All it stated was "Scorpion and Sub-Zero would be returning(obviously), but Johnny Cage would not, and his daughter Cassie would be taking over the reigns."

As stated before, Gamestop writes/makes these commercials..its not just the ONE guy who's talking in them.

I'd like Johnny in there, but I'd imagine that Gamestop would most likely hold retreats for their high ranking staff to mingle with PR guys and get early access to certain titles. Besides, someone working marketing at netherealm would certainly have to sign off on these commercials to ensure they represent the game correctly and not mislead its audience with false information, so this has a good chance of being true,unfortunately. Besides, didn't these same ads mention Kitana weeks before her reveal?

Sorry, I didn't mean the exact same ad, I just assume they're part of a series that were filmed together for Gamestop. The Kitana/Mileena one was seen at the start of the year, before the official reveal of Kitana. This Cassie one is probably very similar to that one. It's unlikely we'll get confirmation on whether this is true before release, I've got a feeling that IF Cage is in the game, he'll be left as a surprise until launch.

I really doubt this. To not include a top 5 most-played fighter would be pretty idiotic. Plus, you guys DO remember Boon stating REPEATEDLY early on that "just because one character is in does NOT mean another won't be," right? I call BS--he's in.

He killed it in the tournament scene, and he made a lot of new fans from MK9s story mode. It's be a damn shame not to play as him again. Cassie's Hollywood mode concerns me a bit, but they've got to be able to come up with ways to make him unique from her and give him some new variations.

I'm assuming 2-3 major characters will be DLC so that NRS can truly rake in the dough with DLC characters.

Then again, I hope I'm wrong and this roster actually pans out to be 30+.

I didn't want to make a new thread about it but I was in Gamestop today and one of these promotion/commercial things came on and mentioned that even though Johnny wouldn't be playable in MKX his daughter would be. That and Sonya wearing that ring...not looking good for him.

I think that we can almost practically confirm he's not in, what with that ring Sonya is wearing and this ad.Shame, looks like he's the only MK1 character not returning.
