So I am not going to talk about who cloned whose fatality, but instead I noticed something interesting, and would like to initiate some discussion about it..

So I noticed that the fatalities are getting sloppy, or at least that is the trend. It first started with Kung Lao's, then Reptile's and now Johhny's. If you watch earlier entries, like Scorpion, Subby, D'Vorah, Kano, you can see that NRS clearly has the technology to create unique wounds and holes in the models, yet for Johhny they went with a clean cut, even if it is not a full vertical split, same with reptile and Kung Lao. What do you think the cause of this trend is? Did they just show off the creative ones first and then have the more generic ones later? I mean johnny could clearly do his with a Sub-Zero like chesthole instead of vertically splitting the model in half (of course without the spine), and that wouldn't have required much effort really.

Another trend I noticed in the fatalities is that they tend to go back being ridicolous. What I really loved up to Kung Jin's preview in the story trailer, is that the kills where beliavble, no tearing off arms bare handed, or nothing like that (like in mk9, where limbs and heads were removed without any resistance at all).

So what is your oppinion?

well, i do understand where you are coming from, and I too wish for some of the fatalities to be a little more creative. So far, from the fatalities revealed, the coolest ones are those from Ermac and scorpion. Ermac's decapitation was very original. Scorpion's face slice also fit well with his character. The rest of the fatalities do seem recycled ones. I am hoping that they are saving the rest (and most surprising ones) for last to maintain the element of surprise. Hell, my "wishful thinking" hopes that the fatalities that have already been revealed end up getting replaced by a surprise one.

at the same time, there are just so many ways you can kill somebody off in a bloody, gory way. if you look at the fatalities from the past, they don't break away from the decap, slice/dice, torso rip, etc... But with the new technology that they have, i am hoping that they can now implement the type of fatalities that are creative and gory.

Well, we haven't seen all of them yet. Reserving judgment. Although I agree there is a touch too much splitting going on.
