Um...wouldn't designing a character that steals from Smoke, Sektor, and Cyrax just be like putting them right back into the game—especially if it's another cyborg?

Cyrax was my favorite MK character in all versions of MK3 and he unquestionably had the best Fatality in MK:DA, but it's time for him to go bye-bye. The only character I wish they'd bring back in the next round is Baraka, and that's partially because the U3 engine could make him look *really, really nasty.* Locust with gigantic blades, anyone?

I wouldn't mind if even Sub-Zero and Scorpion sat out a round, though we know they won't.

I kind of like Jax's ending from Armageddon. That would be cool if all the cyborgs merged with him and he became this all powerful mangled with wires flesh and steel. He could have the piston punch, net, teleport punch, Invisibility, Rockets, Duel Rockets, Tripple rockets (similar system to tsungs fireballs), ground pound. And his fighting style should be in-between Jax in mk:da and a boss character.

I'm open to the idea of more cyborgs, but not if it's just be gonna some colour changing freak with all the best abilities of previous cyborgs. Let's have character ideas that center around story concepts rather than uber-cool-super-awesome-special moves man!!

The 3 cyborgs are interesting.

Sektor is the warrior; a deathbot 2000 that has fully embraced life as a machine.

Smoke has a soul, and there is a man vs. machine conflict taking place in his mind.

Cyrax is perhaps the most interesting of all. He is the philosopher who fears that his existence is pointless because he has no directive to follow. He speaks to that philosophy that no man is born with a soul, but that it is earned through sufferiing and achievement. Cyrax is literally without a soul, and seeks to manifest one because simply being alive means nothing without a purpose to life. He said as much in his MKGold ending, and the rest is interpretive on my part. The events of MK3 where he walks off into the desert without any destination is also very metaphorical for the challenge he faces. I love Cyrax.

I just don't really see the point in having a 4th. What's gonna be the hook for this new robot: is he a wizard?

Where would the fun in that be? The supernatural abilities are a good selling point for mortal kombat.

the 3 existing are great, thats it, no more, we have enough plot in mk that we dunno what to do with it all.

Smoke- a lost soul, torn between control and himself. that can go in so many different directions.

Cyrax- a man fearing a meaningless existance, looking to benefit earthrealm as his life and mental state is all thanks to the special forces.

both smoke and cyrax were captured by the lin kuei after running and turned into cyborgs werent they? i know smoke was for sure. thats enough for interesting plot development.

best character imo, my favourate since mk3. a willing participant to become a better warrior, he willingly became a cyborg unlike the others, massive dedication. no worries, a duranged mind from his injury causing him to turn on subzero. loses, flees to japan and takes it over. lol, wow.

builds his army, comes back as a giant threat, i bet subzero was shitting himself in the back of his mind, with all thos warriors, if it wasnt for the special forces shooting the ship down or w/e they did, i believe the tekunin would have destroyed the remaining lin kuei, uncluding subzero... :O

with a nemesis in both cyrax and subzero, he already has power, he seeks more. the destruction of the lin kuei, and cyrax.

i can see his future having something to do with shinnok. in mka, remember that kode he initiated on the ship? "k, zero, n, n, one, h, five.

I don't think cyrax has ever been confirmed as having been "captured" for the purpose of automation.

If I were to speculate, I would say he was selected and accepted the decsion without asking questions. Sektor volunteered, Smoke ran, and Cyrax just went with the flow. I would also compare human Cyrax's personality with the elder Sub-Zero; a very impersonal mercenary that knew he was walking down the path of destruction, but didn't really care. The divergence comes when Noob-Saibot has completely lost his humanity and still just doesn't care. Cyrax is a souless "monster" that wants his humanity back, and spends his days thinking about what it means to be human. In a weird way, he's understands humanity better than any of us.

But like I said, I'm not about confirmation, I'm about the speculation. I don't think Cyrax tried to avoid mechanization the way Smoke and Sub-zero did. I'm thinking of a law professor I had (I'm a 4th year accounting student), and one of his great words of wisdom was:

"If you don't have a plan, someone has a plan for you."

Speculating, I think some Lin Kuei grandmaster walked up to Cyrax and told him he was going to be turned into a cyborg, and Cyrax just obeyed like the robot that he became.
