My take on Reptiles appearance in MK7...

Let me just say that I could never really grasp Reptile as a "Ninja". I can't remember 100%, But I recall that when he took of his mask to do his fatality, His human "Face" was still with the mask in his hand. It wasn't until MK4 came out which showed him to have a very humanoid appearance, And the idea that he banished to hell for acts of mass genocide... That I got my idea.

What if Reptile goes back to his MK4 look in MK7? But his alternate/main look will be a green ninja, Just as he appeared in Sindel's ending in MK:D? But It's revealed that his "Human" appearance isn't a result of any magic, But rather he stiches together human skin to disguise himself! So when you see him in his ninja suite, The "Skin" on his arms and around his eyes will be a shoddy stich-job.

I don't believe Iever heard about the 'human skin' thing. The canon explanation, as far as I know, for his de-humanization is that it takes concentration to master holding a human shape, and as he grows madder, he loses his abilities to do that.
Personally, I Hated his MK4 and MK:DA look. I think the saurian concept used for his face beneath the mask in MKII and 3 was his best look.

Perhaps after the whole dragon king incident he will be able to recover to the point of being able to shapeshift, and he will look like his old ninja self until a fatality or something.

I loved his MK4 look, But loathed his MK:DA look.

I've never heard of the "Canon" for his ability to look human.

The "Human-Skin" thing is just something I've been tinkering with since before MK:D came out. I thought the concept would really add to the feel of the game itself.

I like that idea of having Reptile wear people's skin. I could picture Reptile's beaming red eyes through the eye sockets of his leatherly skin mask. I could picture his skin stitched just like Chucky from the Child's Play movies. I would love to see a good artist attempt to draw a picture of this render for him.

I don't know where I heard it, so I can't help. I've been known to be wrong, so it's possible that that's just my thinking, and was never, ever, stated.

Assuming that's not canon, I like the stitched skin idea, but not necessarily the MK4 look.
At the rate Reptile "evolves" with each time i see him, i wouldnt be suprise he was a T-rex in the next game
