Well Here I am making my first thread in this forum. AS you may know music is a really important part in any videogame. As for our favourite franchise, I would like you to post two things on music.
1.- Would you like a specific band to perform the main them, if the answer is yes, who may you want to be the main performer.
2.- What kind of ymusic would you like for the rest of the game, Rock? HipHop? Techno? Music that fits the enviroments? or a mix of all of the latest mentioned.
Cheers.

it should have every type of music, including old school from MK2. techno would fit in perfectly in MK, "smack my bitch up" or whatever that song was called would be awesome. Ozzy's Crazy Train would supply the rock group. any ideas for rap?

I have an excellent idea for MK7's music!!
No licensed music!! Why, you might wonder? Well, I really wouldn't like the idea of hearing some music from a band with lyrics in an MK game. To me, it doesn't fit at all!
Perhaps it would be best if they were to have customizable soundtrack features like in some other games.
However, when it comes to the actual music for the game, it should always keep that dark, mystical, evil feel to it. Primarily, there should also be elements of oriental type music. I really liked what they did for the music in the Lower Mines/The Pit with the Japanese Taiko drums and such.
Techno is also fine as long as it has that MK vibe. The Chamber of Artifacts stage had some techno type music and I thought it was well done overall.
When it comes to metal and such, well...alright. Once again, I hope it would have that MK flavor to it.
I wouldn't want to see every genre of music in MK, especially genres like pop, rap, R&B, hip-hop, and also..country!
The MKD soundtrack was quite good overall and I hope that it'll keep getting better. One more thing...Each stage should have their own song in it since in the past MK games (MKD included), more than 1 stage had the same song.

I want a band. Not a famous one, just a band. I want the game to have real songs and themes, not the atmospherical sounds and noise MK has right now. Real melodies or songs are way better, like in Guilty Gear where every character has his own instrumental theme song (I'd love to see that in MK7) or Street Fighter, where each stage has its own theme.

Thanks Mk_FrEaK. I really liked the different asortment of music they had in MKD. The metallic type stuff for the Dark Prison/Hell's Foundry was cool but it sounded somewhat repetitive to me. I also liked that one song that uses the various African drums along with a flute and synthetic sounds for the bass and melody. I know that MK has that primarily asian mythological type feel to it, but the way that song with the African drums and such was, I felt it had a good fit to the game.
A lot of the songs in MK seem to combine both electronical/synthetic stuff along with actual instruments which is interesting and good. I wouldn't want any songs to be all synthetic. As for a song that is all instrument based, I wouldn't mind. I just wouldn't want the whole full MIDI thing for any songs, know what I mean?
And going back to what I said before, a good customizable feature for the soundtrack would be really nice to have so that it can please everyone. I still don't like the idea of having licensed music in an MK game, especially if it has lyrics to it. I want some original stuff. It's not that hard to ask for, is it?
