Do you guys think that MKX will have a whole new story without any elements that connected to post- MK3 games' storyline or it will have some connection with the storyline of MK4,MKDA,MKD and MKA?

I'm not sure. However, I think Raiden will actually die in this one.

Since they're going after a whole bunch of new aspects for the game, I'd say it may be about half and half...The story would have some events and main plot points that the MK4+ stories had, but also have new ones to mix things up.

I think it will begin with the MK4 plot and then go in a radically different direction. No deadly alliance, no Onaga, and no Armageddon. I'm just worried how much of the events of MK4 we get to see and that its not glossed over in the opening cinematic. Shinnok's invasion is for sure not the main event in the game which is a bummer. I hope Kotal's rise and fall doesn't play out exactly like Shao Kahn's fall just with an all new gang of mindless henchmen.

Agree. I feel as though the villains are in more need of character depth than the heroes. Characters like Reptile especially deserve proper attention rather than "go there, kill them".

Would be ironic tho.
That all these mortals keep coming back in "Mortal Kombat" when the only one who'd die for sure is a god.

I think that if 25 years passes and Shujinko still somehow only has 4 out of six Kamidogus, there needs to be an explanation for that.

He would return at the end as Evil/Dark Raiden. All in all, hope he does die for good. Remember, this is a new time line.

I'm thinking we will see a slightly altered version of the MK4 story at first, then it will be a mostly original story, and maybe a few elements or just some nods to the MKDA-MKA era story, but mostly original.

I think Johnny Cage will be the next big bad one. Remember Boon said it would be a fun returning character. Well Johnny could go insane and try to control his newly acquired powers as per his ending in Mk 2011. Cassie goes after her father to get some sanity in him and cure him or control him.glassesglassesglassesglasses

I think it will be a heavily-modified MK4. Shinnok will be the big bad (not necessarily the final boss, but the instigator of the biggest events) and will launch an invasion on Earthrealm and Outworld. Mix in plenty of new stories (like the rise and fall of Kotal) because of the 25-year time span.

With each new dialogue that I read from Raiden and Sub-Zero, I'm starting to believe this is Noob, ascended and cleansed by the soulnado and sent on a quest by the elder gods. The way he speaks to Raiden is how someone of greater knowledge of the situation would talk to him.

Maybe the elder gods are sending him to try to fix Raiden's mess or something like that and Raiden has to deal with outworld, netherealm and also his own judgement.

I don't like that as I want Kuai Liang back as Sub-Zero and Bi-Han as Noob, but those dialogues...

That's an interesting take on things, but from what Ed said in interviews it really sounded like he was hinting at a 'new generation' Sub-Zero being someone new altogether from the Lin Kuei.
