Just like with the "unplayable" bosses in MK9, Rain (along with Baraka, Tanya and Sindel) are functional and are playable via modding in the PC version. Numerous YouTube videos document this. They have combos and everything, they just don't have any unique intros, finishing moves or variations.

Shame that you console-only guys end up getting jipped like that.

Yeah they are just pretty much copies of their MK9 versions though with no balancing or anything. A lot different than actually having a full version dlc of the character

Baraka was in MK9. Fujin, Li Mei, and Sareena haven't been playable since Armageddon. It's been too long, Baraka can take one for the team.

Well obviously I disagree. I don't think he or Rain should take one for the team for a shit character like Li Mei. I also don't care if he hasn't missed a game since Deception he should be playable in this one. All those games he's been in and he can't even be in here?

That's bullshit and no amount of complaining about Fujin takes away from that.

And Fujin has all the time in the world to wait..maybe juuust maybe Kitana and Kung Lao won't be around to take moves that can go to to him. I want Fujin to matter for story in 11 not be treated as leftovers for 10.

Sareena on the other hand...I'd like her and I'll be honest I'd rather have her than Sindel but I wanted Smoke and Sektor as well but they're not updated and they're not story npcs and they're not fought once so THEY can sit it out instead. Edit: This is about Rain though not Baraka so I'll drop it for now

Ill admit it, Baraka's death kind of rustled my jimmies.
Sure, I'd be happy to get Rain as DLC...but I can't help wondering if that wouldn't be a disservice to his character.
Like is he only good enough to be DLC material every time?

Still...I do like his new design and voice a lot, so I could look past that.

That being said, they better give him a spot in the main roster next time...no excuses.

You say it's not that deep, but I disagree. Rain had every reason to be in the game, but was he? Nope. I don't know about you, but I think characters should be more than a fucking cash grab.

And don't flatter yourself, I ain't crying for you. But I do know quite a few people who don't love the idea of paying for the same thing twice. Myself included.

Rain is going to be dlc. So is Baraka.
Their models were updated as a last minute addition. And while their moves weren't implemented, they will be dlc.

FFS Ed even slipped and hinted at Rain.
