Your all insane to jump ship on the Kove so quick. The actual arena in the game is beautiful and dark. Sometimes things that look good in still frames DO NOT look good in full motion or most times do not even look nearly the same.

In order for this concept art to be fully realized in actual gameplay the art direction of the game would have to be DRASTICALLY different.

Agreed. Colors have been very muted so far in the game. Not much is bold and bright. It is all dull shades of brown, tan, gray, black.

I really freaking hope that this game's special edition (if there is any) comes with a better sized art book. As much as I loved that they finally came out with an art book for this series, the size of it was just bleh. (I mean I lost the damn thing!)

Other than that, I like the amount of stuff that goes on with this arena. It's my third favorite level (the first being the jungle and the other being the market, as of right now). But this was the first level that surprised me with just how awesome it looked when it was shown for the first time. I like the interactions that are going on here.

Awesome stuff, love the buildings overlooking the water and the mega-ship with the castle on it. I wouldn't have minded if the stage in-game was this colorful, but it's not a huge complaint. I found MK 9 to be a tad bit colorful for some stages, but I think there's a happy-meduim between MK 9 colors and MKX colors.

WoW! now that I see it on my computer, amazing. That IS a giant ass ship with a freakin fortress on top of it. Maybe MKX will indeed have some kinda "Pirate King" announced. Or is this the Red Dragon mobile base? Shinnok's Armada? hmmmm

It would've been awesome if you could see this ship launching those fireballs at the castle during the match. But i think this got scratched since NRS decided to have the fight so close to the screen.

The castle and the ship would make good for a transition. Too bad there are no transitions...

You really can't comprehend the concept that MKO isn't a fucking hivemind and there could be TWO OR MORE groups of opinions here?



The one with that "Vaan" kid and the Han Solo ripoff who hangs out with a rabbit-chick and they all have British accents, where they tried to make a single-player MMO and the end result is a lot of boring monster-grinding in giant, dusty looking empty fields and the dryest, most boring story in the franchise's history? (Not the "worst" story, mind you. Just the most boring. Worst would be anything with Lightning in it...)

That sound like the one you're thinking of? I know the numbers get hard to keep track of post-FFX 'cause they started making actual MMOs part of the numbering scheme when they should've been considered spinoffs instead.

Actually, that doesn't sound much like the best in the series with colorful and stellar art I'm thinking of. ;)

But seriously, I don't think MKX looks dull like Injustice did. It's definitely more vibrant. I think they just went for a different mood for the cove stage compared to the concept artwork. I also wonder if they replaced the ship with that demon cliff thing...Either way I think the stages look great.
