My thoughts?

Why do people try to figure out "meaning" to every single messaged tweeted by the MK team? They're people, sometimes (well, most of the time) they just say stupid/funny stuff. I doubt everything they say is some encrypted message. As Ed and Co. has said in the past, they'd love to do that crossover, but the legal hurdles would be insane. Besides.... MK9 hasn't even been released. No way they'd really be considering another game at this point.

This is Ed commenting on screwattack's little predictions of 2011 thing where I guess they said MK Vs SF.

I ain't saying it wont happen but I'll be surprised especially seeing as capcom are bus on Marvel vs Capcom 3, SF Vs Tekken. Wouldn't surprise me if there was a new Darkstalkers as well.

I wouldn't mind this happening especially if it was all in SF art style.

I really don't wanna see this happen, but since we're getting this new MK I don't really care either way since i'll be no-lifing this game. IMO if MK is going to have a crossover with another game it needs to be with a series that is on the same page in terms of style, gameplay and violence. Im a Tekken fan as well and I hate the way they look in SFIV's graphic engine. Seeing MK characters in that way will be 1000x times worse

I think we will see a cross over at some point, but its not happening in the near future.

When Capcom works out deals for cross overs ( SNK / Namco ) the deal involves both companies making their own version of the game. Right now Capcom already has their plate full with Street Fighter x Tekken, which won't be released until 2012, so the timing isn't there.

With that being said, this is how I would like to see Capcom handle their version of Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat

- Modified SSFIV engine
- Six button configuration
- throws, focus attacks, e.x. moves , supers and ultras still work as normal
- All characters jumping roundhouse ( Hard Kick ) does juggle ( like MK II / MK3 ) I.E. Jumping HK ~ Hadoken possible
- All character crouching Hard Punch does uppercut style launch
- Street Fighter characters that don't have a launching animation for the cr.hp will get a new one, while their original cr.hp animation could be done using df. mp ( I.E. Blanka, Honda )
- Full Super meter can now be used to either do a Super Combo OR Combo Breaker
- Combo Breakers do very little damage, and can not be used to break Ultra's.
- Characters do no have to select between their Ultra's
- If an Ultra Combo is landed on the winning round to defeat the opponent, the animation is modified to show a fatality.
- 38 character roster

Fatality Examples

Ryu :

Ultra I : Metsu Hadoken

Same as SFIV, if landed to end the match, after the opponent is knocked down from the Hadoken, a dramatic animation shows Ryu charging another Metsu Haoken as the character is getting up ( groggy ) and fires out another beam style Hadoken that vaporizes the opponent.

Ultra II : Metsu Shoryuken

Same as SSFIV, if landed to end the match, when Ryu connects with the second punch ( the one that hits the jaw and causes the opponents face to look smooshed ) his eyes glow red as if he is becoming Evil Ryu, and as he launches in the air, the opponents head flys off.

The point of using Ultra's to do fatalities is that it uses a risk / reward system. If a fatality is supposed to be a way to humiliate your opponent, then it should be skill based , and what better way to show off skill than to not only have to land an ultra on your opponent, but lose enough life to build that meter.

My roster picks

Street Fighter :

Ryu
Ken
Guile
Chun Li
Blanka
E. Honda
Zangief
Dhalsim
Bison
Balrog
Sagat
Vega
Cammy
Akuma
Rose
Rolento
Juri
Urien
Ibuki

Mortal Kombat :

Johnny Cage
Kano
Scorpion
Sub-Zero
Raiden
Sonya
Liu Kang
Reptile
Shang Tsung
Goro
Shao Khan
Kitanna
Mileena
Jax
Barraka
Kung Lao
Quan Chi
Kabal
Nightwolf

Theres not a snowballs chance in hell capcom will allow their characters to die.
However I think mk v sf would be amazing it would have to be made on the sf4 engine though.
The anime style would give mk a fresh new look.

At the same time though NRS would easily allow Sub Zero, Scorpion and co into game where they don't have their heads ripped off.

There will be backlash, of course, but given time, this is destiny.

Plus all that ink that comes off could be red...

Both companies, if you're up to par on this possibility, are almost about to $hit themselves over just the idea; at least they're prepping us for the hype, even Capcom's side and has been mentioned at almost EVERY SINGLE GAMING CONVENTION for the past 3 years in specific when MKvDC suprised us (THE EXACT OPPOSITE of MvC it's biggest and well-noted competition). Yes, capcom has let MANY of their characters die, and for this to work it doesn't have to be cannon/non-cannon. Yes, it is possible it could already be in the works just like MK2011 was already in the works b4 the end of MKvsDCU, just keep looking for silouttes like with Superman/Batman lol. This would make a great 2012/2013 end of the world suprise/shock to the whole gaming world using the Temple of Argus as a template for promotion like the Mayan Ruins which would also leave us wandering what version of each would mix MK2 or 3 or 4/SF2 or 3 or 4.

Chun Li's Fatality 1 - she does what you think is a simple leg stab like Li Mei but ends with her super lightning kick mutilating the opponent's torso area. Fatality 2 - she does her Super Kakooken around the opponent's head until it explodes.

Guile's Fatality 1 - he does a harsher version of his super spinning sonic boom move and it slashes the torso, and he flash kicks it off the opponent.

Dalsim's Fatality 1 - he does his Yoga Teleport while holding the opponents head, and teleports only it away from the opponent's body and holds it up showcasing it, and blows fire on the head melting the skin and the eyes and fried brains fall out to only a skull.

Vega's Fatality 1 - he does his across the screen blade launch move which slashes the opponent's torso, and is quickly followed up by his falling suplex which slams only the already torso completely off the opponent's body

Blanka's Fatality 1 - Human Yo-Yo - he punches through opponent with his claws and rips out intestines, and while holding them he does his cannonball move 3 times until the torso finally snaps.

There's no way in hell it could possible work.

Capcom of course wouldn't allow their million dollar industry characters loose.

And bringing a character like Kratos or DC characters into MK worked because they had no previous fighting game based on them. If you bring SF characters in they'd have to work like SF characters, IE not fitting at all in with how MK characters work. The choice would be to make the SF characters more realistic and give them MK moves, or make the MK characters intp cartoons and make them work like SF characters. Just.....totally wouldn't work either way.

Ono of Capcom Japan has stated he would like to do it and Boon has stated he would like to do it. Chances it will happen at some stage then. Most likely they will do like with Namco where Capcom gets SF vs Tekken in SF style while Namco gets Tekken vs SF where its done in Tekken style [Tekkenized Ryu is awesome looking] Capcom will get SF vs MK in SF style where the Fatalities will more than likely become Ultras and or Supers and NRS gets MK vs SF where the SF gets Fatalities [most likely gory versions of their Ultras and/or Supers]

Oh god. I'd throw up. But of course I'd buy it anyway.

If they do do this, it would have to be MKxSF and SFxMK. And hopefully SF is more into blood than DC was.

But seriously, if this does happen I hope it's far away. We need two real MK games in a row, at least, before this happens. I don't want every other game to be a crossover.

Naturally of course, the Fatalities would have to be toned down like in VsDC.
Either way, what the hell. Just please, no fucking RAGE!! this time.

Yep, never gonna happen. I don't care who at Capcom says they wants to work with MK. That's just politics. To denounce what so many westerners view as a part of their gaming history would be insulting.

Anyway, Fatalities:

Chun-li: SSF4 Ultra, except opponent falls flat on back ( ! SPLAT ! )

Blanka could finally be an animal again, instead of a toddler: Vicious clawing followed by classic neck-bite.

Guile: Sonic Boom slices torso in half, Guile runs up and slices opponent in half vertically with a Flash Kick. Leaving opponent quartered, then fall apart.

Zangief: Picks up opponent by their head with one hand, then smashes it into the ground, pain ensues.

Vega: Backflip kick opponent, so the opponent also back flips, then while midair and upside down, impales the skull with his claws.

Balrog: Multiple brutal punches until the opponent gives out and collapses in blood.

Ibuki: Throws an explosive kunai to each limb and torso, each blowing up in succession.
