posted02/12/2009 05:40 AM (UTC)byArmaggonOkay, folks. Here's a better picture of the next best Mortal Kombat vs. game. People say that it would lose fans... I think not, as this should have been done a long time ago. If anything, any lost Nintendo fans will be gained!!! Sure, it can be an XBOX 360 exclusive, or a Playstation 3 exclusive, as it can fit both platforms if the developers play their cards right! I know damn well they can do it. They done put the MK Characters up against Superman and his friends (which was honestly a dumb move), now lets get a REAL fighting game going!!!

i agree,no more crossovers. if anything i would say go the SC4 route and maybe have guest appearance characters from the series but even that is kinda pushing it.

definitely no. besides, rare still owns the ki franchise if i'm not mistaken, so it'd be 360 exclusive wouldn't it? but that aside, crossovers should backshelve themselves for awhile, even tho dcu was pretty damn good.

And why in the hell not???????
Because the picture doesn't look good to me, and I'm not at all fond of continuing these crossovers.
I still feel like they screwed up by making MKvsDC. I think it should have been a clash of two competitive franchises. Not a stringent reach for stick figure parallels that should have brought a crossover into existence for MK.
I'd probably still appreciate a MKvsSF crossover. Not KI, not SC, not Tekken, or any other one. I still feel that a more appropriate approach to MKvsDC, since it has the comic super heroes in it, should have been Marvel vs DC. And if the MkTeam had to be involved, that deal should have been Midways job to broker so that the Mkteam could develop it.
Basically I guess, I appreciate sensible maneuvers, and not these "see through schemes" for the simple sake of the dollar. I kinda think that they could have done the same with a "new" MKD or MKA, as they're doing with MKvsDC.
"A new Mortal Kombat" is all it takes to accomplish that, really.
Don't get me wrong though, I'm not saying they didn't put forth a "good enough" effort. All I'm saying is that usually, the right choices at the right time make the most money. Since that's what this game really seemed like it was about. Money.
So with that said, look at MKvsDC. It's merely (some would argue barely) doing as well as one of the more recent past MK games. MKD, MKA, MKSM...ect. They mind as well have made a new "straight up MK game", at standards similar to MK games made on last gen systems, on these current gen systems with the fact simply being that it is actually a "new" Mortal Kombat game. Cuz it's proven it would have done the same thing again....because it's already done it for that type of product.
