It has been heavily rumoured at the moment. Apparently there are two MK games in development at the moment. MK9 and an Adventure Style title. And seeing as Shaolin Monks was the only adventure title that was good and successful then it stands to reason its a possible Shaolin Monks sequel.

I would love to see another shoalin monks game, I thought it was one of the most fun mk games. Imagine the havok you can create online, maybe in 4 player co-op.

Downloadable content....

I'd give my right leg for a sequel

(not really, but i still would love a sequel)

oh hell no, thats y their games always missing something , they need to leave out all that extra crap 4 its own cd and focus on the regular mk type of game 1st, then maybe if they want extras like conquest /puzzle and things like that-they can put that on its own cd and it can b released with the game, but only if the real game is complete first, shit im tired of all that extra nonsense messing it up for the game becaus of timing.

But we are talking about a completely separate game to a half arsed extra on a standard MK.

As long as it is a remarkable progression from anything last gen, and pushes the envelope for this current gen, I'm all for it.

I loved the last one as well. I mean, I'd probably want to see something other than "Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks 2", but that type of game is great for MK.

I love beat em ups, and hack and slash games but, I did not like Shaolin monks at all. It seemed really repetive, and there was back tracking. Beat em ups should never have backtracking. If they can make this next one more like Turtles in Time or Final Fight then I could be down for it.

beat em ups are repetitive in general. i love beat em ups too but there isnt a single one out there that isnt, especially the ones you've mentioned. if anything the backtracking made it replayable. i respect your opinion but it doesn't make sense to me. shaolin monks has what a good 3d beatem up should, simple gameplay, sweet combos.special moves that are actually useful in 3d and sensless but entertaining violence.

The new Wolverine game seemed a lot like a new MK/SM.

That's a bit harsh, I've heard good things about the Wolverine game. But its repetitive. But its definitely a version of God of War but with Wolverine. Out goes one un-likeable cunt and in comes in a slightly more likeable one.
