I have thought for the longest, that Mortal Kombat has much more potential than it has delivered in the past several years. Don't take this as an insult to the franchise, because it's really meant to praise the franchise with constructive criticism. I, myself have been a fan ever since the first installment/debut, moreso after MKII. I thought that MK started to die after MK;4. Despite the general consensus, I thought that MK:4 was a very innovative and original installment. It was and remains to be my favorite MK of the 3D games (my favorite 2D is a toss up between MK2 and MK3). I liked the introduction of the weapons and the fact that each character had his/her own unique button combination in order to use their weapon, and the animation actually played out in the fight, which left room for strategy in itself. The weapons could be dropped and taken, which was a good thing. It was very original.

I haven't played MK Vs DCU, but I've read about it, and watched it online... and I have seen enough, to be honest with you. To me, that is as 2D as a 3D game can get; more than I like it to be. I just think that Mortal Kombat should have more STRATEGY than all of it's previous installments. Simple was good in the past. But if the series wants to thrive along with it's modern counterparts, I think that hype will never be enough. There was a little more strategy, which was good, but it needs to be expanded upon greatly. The free-fall kombat could be expanded. The stage interaction could improve a great deal. The best part about the last game was being able to fight as super heroic and villianous icons. It would have done well as a DCU game by itself. Mortal Kombat, on the other hand, (although it was a kute koncept) doesn't fit with comic book heros such as DCU or Marvel (would have liked to see DCU vs Marvel). It would have been a much kooler idea (I thought) to mash up with a game like Killer Instinct or even Dead Or Alive (a realistic, more serious, dark atmosphered fighter). The MK series has been hyped up for the past few installments, but rarely ever delivers fully on it's promises. I want to see MK become a real martial arts fighting game, although it's more than just martial arts, but mythology, realism, depth and diversity.

This is just my opinion. Would like to hear your take on it. All opinions, ideas, and concepts are welcomed and encouraged.

well, the mods usually have some sort of leniency with newcomers, so you will probably wont have to worry as much as other members would

oh, and it would probably be in your best interests to read the rest of the FAQ to avoid things like this in the future.

Welcome to MKO.

Jesus, Shaka....lol

I'll try to be selective here, based on existing threads with similar content in them. You will want to use the "Search MKO" button in one of the columns towards the top of every page. Far as closing threads and all that, now you know. And we know that you know, and so, since I know that you know that we know that you know....well....y'know.

Oh welcome! And yea, cool name dude.
