When i think about the possible title of the next game, im reminded of war anarchy, hate, injustice etc etc.

Im not to sure what other fans want from the next title, but i would absolutely love to see MK enter a darker, deadlier world.

What if Raiden looses control - kills Shujinko then retreats into captivity to re-gather himself.

That would leave Earth open to attack so that any possible Boss character could invade earth. Possibly Shinnok or Kahn or a new Evil.

No matter what the storyline is I honestly believe MK needs to amp up the evil. The fatalities are awesome but y not throw in swearing, slower more gruesome deaths.

Also there is no reason to hate the final boss.. Players need to see the Final boss do something extremely evil in order to want the payback..
So if I was to see an evil boss kill thousands of innocent humans id wanna kick hiss arse.

The game also needs some big temporary twists (i say temporary because deaths are always temporary)
Have a sub/main character brutally killed. Someone that everyone loves, Someone like maybe Ermac or Nightwolf.

Amp up the audience level and aim the game at older teens .

Everyone loves nightwolf?.......

but yea they need to make it more dark, other games are out-goreing it. smoke, scorpion and reptile would be good people for slaughter. imo scorpion should kill quan chi in the most brutal way possible. EX. hangs Quan Chi by his own intestines and stick his broads swords through his mouth.
Smoke should be free and choose evil, that would be pretty kool imo. and reptile should keep being reptile.

I don't like the idea of Rayden being evil, but if he allowed himself to be captured, like you said, then I guess you might be able to skim over those details.

Since MK4, I've really liked the idea of Rayden ascending to the role of pro-active Elder God, leaving Fujin to be the guardian of Earthrealm.

I don't really agree about needing to amp up the mature themes of the game, it's probably pushing it as far as it can without losing the lower end of the teen demographic.

A better example of evil wouldn't hurt though.
If it hadn't been done, I'd love to see a new guy take out Liu Kang, to really set himself up as the next big deal.

I guess by extension of what you're saying, I wouldn't mind seeing MK move away from some of the cliches it falls into, and start living by a stricter continuity, that gives death more meaning.

Making Scorpion the new champion of the Elder Gods was a great step in the right direction. If you kill off Liu Kang, then the archetypal hero is replaced by a collective of less convincing, but more enjoyable characters.

Scorpion, Kung Lao, Ermac...

I think that they should make the endings better. It would be so cool if all the endings were like the start of shaolin monks when everyone is fighting. I also would like to see more dramatic fatalities. I would also like to find out more about when raiden was a younger god. was he human was he a fighter in the earthrealm. So many question so little timewow

Because it would then recieve an AO rating, meaning that half of the game's fanbase can no longer purchase the game and the sale's would be affected dramatically.

The game IS aimed at older teens already. I don't know what the rating is in Aussie but it's R18 here. Doesn't get much older than that.

A Dark Mortal Kombat kind of goes against the overall feel of the game. MK has always been, in my opinion, about being able to face up to unimaginable odds and come out on top with enough determination and strength of will. The good characters from the first games were all facing some really impossible tasks, but they took the fight to them and won out in the end. MK's more about hope and daring to imagine that you can beat any odds if you try hard enough, so anything darker than what happened in Deception and Deadly Alliance (all the heroes being killed, for example) doesn't really seem to fit.

And no, swearing is a heck of a bad idea. Earthrealm warriors like Johnny Cage, Sonya and Jax might do it, but everyone else comes from a different place. Most of them shouldn't speak English, let alone swear in it.

True evryeone speaks english, even Onaga a Dragon! I like the idea that of a new character been introduced by killing a well known character. Not just to make it more evil, it would also add emphasis to the New character. We would all know he would be powerful and could be capable of many things. Then it would not be a waste of new characters like Hotaru, Dairou and Darrius.

Like somebody commented i feel MK is about hope and overcoming a evil even though all the odds are against you. We dont need more evil, we need Heroes someone to respect as a character.
