I think it would be kool to see a kind of new generations thing with a bunch of new characters, some being descendants of original characters. It would be a fresh take on something classic, like this new game, but with a completely new timeline. Original MK characters could still return, as so many of them are or seem, timeless.

It could take place years, decades, eons, or in a galaxy far far away, say after Armageddon. There is potential for:

-Rise of new characters
-Return of old characters
-Formations of new factions
-Just seeing who and what survived
-New alliances/rivalries (along with old ones)
-New and old stages
-Fresh timeline
-New game modes
-Great opportunity for KAK to make a return
-Rise of new races, or blends of existing races
-Opportunity for great connection with storylines of old and new characters, kind of a passing of the torch sort of deal...

Lots of other stuff, this is just thoughts but I think this would be another great way to spark interest with fans like me, that are still die hard MK, but it wouldnt hurt to see something fresh while still giving props to the foundation and original games. It would be wicked to see Nightwolfs ancestors or something paying homage to him by joining in the tournament or something, or a revamped Cyrax training with the new Shaolin, Quan Chi trolling the shit out of everything still, and new characters bumpin into each other. This would be dope.

Would any one else like to see something like this? Basically another MK just with alot more new ppl in it.

Then it shouldn't even be called Mortal Kombat. That leaves less room for disappointment since expectations won't be high.

Yes, because god forbid we actually move forward with the game conceptually or storywise.

What would exactly the subtitle Bloodlines refer to?

lol..

@chrome Bloodlines or Generations, something like that, could refer to actual descendants of the MK that we know, giving options for fighters with meshed abilities, like Raiden and Sheeva having babies lol.

But really Generations might fit better for what I was going for, so still paying homage to all the MK legends with ties in storylines or whatever, just with alot of new fighters, maybe with mixed abilities, completely new ones, and ones that have been missed so far (whatever yall think about the elementals, I think it would be dope to have em all in..earth, metal etc. plus anything else NRS can think of)

Cuz like chrome was sayin, its time for something fresh. I wouldnt want to see ALL new stages or characters, just a decent bunch. All Im sayn EDIT: Bloodlines just sounds fukkn ruthless tho..

The only two things I didn't like, having MK be held in some galaxy far away... not sure if it was just a joke, and bringing back Create a Fatality.

I thought that was one of the dumbest concepts ever.

Otherwise, I wouldn't mind seeing something actually new happen to the series.

This is what I thought would happen after Armageddon. A new start. New and old characters (more new than old) new arenas, NEW TIMELINE. But instead, they went with a reboot. Which is cool because I can still enjoy my favorite characters some more. As for KAK, Hell yes. I loved in it Armageddon. All it needs is way more customization options and it would be great. It should be like SC but with more options.

You know it actually could have worked if they would have just continued after Armageddon.

Sub-Zero gained God status in his ending so he would be one.
Scorpion is already dead as is Noob Saibot so both of these move on.
Raiden is a god as is Fujin so even after death they revive so they continue on.
Kitana is thousands of years old so she could have went on. Shang Tsung is a sorcerer who lives off of souls so he could continue on as well.
Cyrax and Sektor are machines so really they could have survived as well.

So
Sub-Zero
Scorpion
Raiden
Kitana
Noob Saibot
Fujin
Shang Tsung
Sektor
Cyrax

So all of those guys plus new characters, it could have worked but oh well it's just not to be now.

That's a pretty solid roster too. At this point I wish they would've made an all new timeline. They could've reinvented MK. But I love MK9 so oh well.

Technically if you went by everyones Armageddon endings, everyone would still be around. No one actually dies in this shit lol. But you do bring up a good point on continuation post-Armageddon tho..

Scorpion: His son kidnapped and taken into the Netherrealm by Quan Chi/Shirai Ryu being resurrected. Would be interesting to see a new twist on Scorpion, and what direction they go with his son in the future. And that Shirai Ryu resurrection long overdue.

Sub Zero: It seems like he would be a kind of outlaw after Armageddon, with the "gods" hunting him down for being a "false god". Possiblity of a role change with him and Scorp, Scorp now maybe being the good guy going after his son, while Sub's on the run and still tryin to sort all his shit out.

Reptile: His MKA ending heavily hints at a Khameleon return, and has Rep going back to his humanoid form, both would be fresh. I always speculated that Chameleon=Shang Tsung, but there is so much opportunity with Reps storyline that its sick. Give this dude redemption lol. His MK9 ending was one of the nastiest and most surprising to me.

(Am I going thru every single ("serious") character in MKA?? No. Just the "elder" ones I think should be in MK: Bloodlines)

Rain: Enslaved Edenia in MKA, maybe he is the evil force to be reckoned with like with his MK9 ending.

Noob Saibot: He fuses with his old Sub-Zero self, and becomes something new. That something new would be kool to see. And with Noob now pretty much in control of the NR, maybe him and Scorp clash finally, as Scorp would literally probly raise hell to get his son back, who Quan Chi stole.

Smoke: He becomes more of an entity than anything, kind of dont know where they would go with him being cyber or human or something else.

Jade: It seems that she is NRS' laziest storywise. Shes always got some insane unexplained power or connection with the supernatural like in MKA ending, and this years game theres the mystery lady that posesses her.

Kitana: Cuz you cant have one of the Edenia chicks w/o having the rest. It seems like Kitana always forms and leads the "chick squad" for MK, would be kool to see who ends up in that and what they really come together for in the first place.

Mileena: Who the fuck knows. Seems like shes not going away tho.

Skarlet: Fresh face, new story, and uh.. Bloodlines..so yeah shes in. Her ending mite hint that theres some good in her too...

There are alot more I would put in, but for now Im done w that.

I was thinking a Bloodlines/Generations type thing would be good for open story modes. This would never happen, but it would be bonkers to have a story mode for every character in the game, where you choose which way to go, giving alternate endings. This would allow players to have a more active role in the direction of the story, plus have replay value; people going back and saying "what if I did this instead of that".

This would also be good because who can really say whats canon for MK? The stories always contradict each other, so why not have alt. endings>? We pretty much have them now anyways.

Ive seen a little talk about adventure game here and there, this would be perfect for something like this. It would be sick to roam around a merged Outworld again, or thru all the realms stacking up accomplishments and fights. For some reason I keep thinking about those Pokemon games back in the day for Gameboy (fuck u u kno u played that shit) where u go around n stack badges. MK version of that would be sick.

You can make ur own characters or travel thru realms as old MK characters tryin to be the "Champ", gaining tokens and killing wild pikachu's. I vote yes
