In the Angry Joe interview with Steve Beran, they talk about the x-ray attacks, Joe says "Are we going to see a good amount of variation on those x-rays?"
Steve replied with "Hell yeah! Everyone's going to have at least more than one for sure."
awesome news!

I thought I heard him say that. Glad to hear it, though I wonder how you can opt between them. Will they have slightly different inputs, do they depend on the variation selected, or is it going to be like an SF Ultra that you select before the match?
Guess the people complaining about certain X-Rays starting as parries can rest a little easier.

Great news. I was a little underwhelmed by Sub-Zero's X-Ray because it was too brief and not fully realized compared to the other ones. :)

As it sounds, they could have an X-Ray for each variation.

That is interesting. Can't wait to see and hear more.

You're right, Injustice was right on the money.

I know, I was trying to be a smart ass. That, and I want to keep my mind off MK9 Story Mode no matter what.

By the way, I hope X-rays are harder to pull off. R2+L2 is too easy lol.

Another nugget at the end is that the roster size is confirmed "About the same size as MK9" so that means 27-28.

i say around 30 including dlc
Boon says Mortal Kombat X will have a roster at least as big as the last Mortal Kombat — which shipped with nearly 30 fighters — and that "obviously" downloadable characters will follow.

Unless they alter the mechanic somehow, this just means that there's twice the amount of X-rays I'm never going to use.
I think it's awesome that we're getting variety, but something needs to happen to make X-Rays more than just a taunt in competitive play.

This is great news. I just hope all the X-rays are all as cringe-worthy as the ones we've seen thus far. Just don't use up all the creative juices on the X-rays NRS, I feel like that along with the point and cut system of MK9 are the reasons for the lackluster fatalities.

That's good. MK9 seemed flawless in most aspects, but it suffered from being too repetitive in the X-Ray moves and character intro/outros.

That's definitely what I'd like to see!
Now I want to see an alternate X-Ray for Sub-Zero where he ice skates towards the opponent with the kori hammer to crash his skull :D I don't mind the sequence of the X-Ray, feel free to add the other kori weapons there, as long as the hammer is used to shatter the skull I'd main that X-Ray :P (specially if the current one remains as a parry)

I wonder if you would be able to choose between the X-Ray moves like you do with Ultra Combos in Super Street Fighter 4. Because if you activate them the same way you did in MK9, you can only have one active at a time. If it depends on Variation, it kinda sucks, as you're stuck with a certain X-Ray move when choosing a certain Variation...

Honestly I don't see why it matters much whether you can choose one particular x-ray or if a certain one comes with each variation. They aren't that useful in fights, anyway.
