More MK character cameo appearances in the backgrounds?

Like Tanya and Kira were shown chained in Shao Khan's Arena. some MK characters were seen fighting in the background at the Pit II, etc.

That was nice in MK9 but I wouldn't care for it to return.

If its in Hell, I'd like to see some of the dead guys from MK9 milling about. Smoke, if he's not in the game. That'd be a cool MK2 reference

I wouldn't mind, but, they would have to be characters that won't be playable in the game.

If Tanya and Kira were chained up in MK9, could that be a hint that they could be in MKX?
I'm not hoping, but, just a suggestion.

Tanya will be in for sure though.

Only if it actually makes sense.

I don't like the idea of characters just being somewhere for the hell of it. Seeing Tanya and Kira chained up was cool, but they didn't belong.
