This is a series where magic exists and you are wondering how they could cheat aging and death with beloved characters besides just replacing them with younger characters?

Do you just lack imagination or did you forget this is Mortal Kombat where they bullshit away this stuff all the time.

People come back from the dead in brand new bodies all the time. They could be magic'ed back to youth. Given new bodies by some deity so that they can continue to fight the good fight or for some purpose serving the deities needs.

A blood transfusion with an Edenian for all we know.

I smell an Injustice 2 in the works.

I just get the feeling MK will take a long hiatus after MKX. My guess is it'll be at least 4 years before a new one comes around...if it does. As dark a day as it might be, I can't deny that I'd enjoy the satisfaction of the story being completely wrapped up.

But you never know what the future holds. Although I'll admit I wish it held that Fire and Ice game....and held it close. Or another adventure-style game. I seriously could only imagine the greatness with today's technology.

I think Shang Tsung should be the only one to have this kind of magik power.

Sonya and Jax could just become immortal robots with grey hair, instead.

And Tanya.... well, Tanya is an epik Edenian so, she can just remain the way she is.

My favorite kharakter of the franchise. (It used to be Sonya, up until Trilogy)

Last time Tanya was playable was in the year 1960, in MK Armageddon.

They'll do something extremely weird like Raiden gives his power to Johnny, Sonya, Jax, Liu, Kung Lao, Stryker, Sub-Zero, etc to keep them young/powerful to protect Earthrealm and he explodes and comes back in a later game That's probably not even the weirdest thing they could think of We should just have a contest where we predict how they'll bring these characters back, either in hilariously lazy ways or actually really well thought out ones.

My point is there is always a way they can get out of this. Heck like you said Sonya and Jax could transplant their brains into android bodies that look like their younger selves because reasons.

Also Shao Kahn was the one who restored Shang. Not Shang himself.

Considering Johnny Cage is now Raiden's "Champion", I'm guessing he received the gift of immortality, or eternal life if you prefer, just as Liu Kang did.

It's hard to say about Sonya and the others though. Now that they have put some emphasis on character aging, it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

But Johnny is old.

Johnny is Raiden's current champion, but liu is the defending Champ of Earthrealm still

The netherrealm war wasn't the elder god's, realm tournament.

Yeah, but I highly doubt he accomplished whatever he accomplished to become Champion RIGHT after MK9. I'm sure some time passed.

But I could be wrong. I'm just throwing some speculation out there. Even though it might not be a tournament/situation that was sanctioned by the Elder Gods, Raiden can heal dem fools, so who's to say he's not continuously keeping Johnny young(ish)?

Can he? It seems Raiden forgot that fact while everyone was dying around him.

And is everyone forgetting how both Johnny and Sonya handled that situation after Khan addressed him as such? I'm not sure Johnny is actually what Khan thinks he is.

You won't get single argument out of me there...about his stupidity at least. Razor's book of issues covered that bit when he just nonchalantly stood over Kitana as she croaked. But he did heal Fujin in the comics after blasting a heaping hole through his stomach Frieza vs Vegeta style. So it seems he has his preferences.

And I honestly can't recall their reaction atm. Once the new issue comes out Wednesday, I intend to read them all from the beginning again since I've only read each of them once, so I'll get back to you on that.

I think Raiden couldn't save Kitana, because she didn't die from wounds she died from Sindel taking her soul or half of it.

Did no one see how much Johnny Cage and Raiden were up each others asses in MK9? The only time I ever saw them apart from each other is when Raiden was talking to the Elder Gods. Raiden saved Johnny's ass twice in the game. The first one came when Jax was beating his ass in the armory, and the other time was on the bridge when Johnny was getting his ass kicked by Motaro. I guess Raiden trusted him enough to beat Shinnok as well, and made him his champion. Raiden would totally make Johnny younger because for some reason Johnny's like his favorite person in this timeline.

Why wouldn't you like the guy from Ninja Mime? I mean come on. As far as Raiden not healing people and shit at the end of MK9 I think everyone got the feeling the writers forgot that the game was coming to a close and only two things had been different from the original trilogy at that point so they had to drastically kill everyone last second for shock value to make things seem different and as a reason for why some of the cast would be gone in the next game. I've only seen a few people arguing that they're meant to permanently stay dead.

This is why I wonder how the story will be. No one is going to feel bad if a person dies. They did make people hate sindel even more tho :(

Haha he was also the one who told Liu Kang to "give him a chance", and said they might need him! From then onward, Johnny was like his spokesperson in bringing in the rest of the crew. "Turns out he's a god! "

I hope we never get a rebooted MK game ever again. I like the way MKX is going and I hope it continues forever.
