No Reptile?

Given his role in the previous game (nonexistent) and how many people complained about the henchmen that did nothing but get their ass kicked, I think they won't use everyone in this game. Despite the ones that died, I am sure they would replace some of the MK9 roster with post MK3 characters.

Seems like a legit one to me.
Imagine if Smoke got this form while he's undead.

Let's just hope the Character Select screen looks better than the one from MK9. And sounds better, too!!!

This should be an even 30, but other than that it's pretty nice.

I do think Reptile should be in, though.

I like it and its probably really accurate. You dont think Skarlet, Kenshi, or Rain will be in the game though?

Both Kenshi and Rain were on her selection screen except Skarlet.
Anyway I'd prefer to see an MK Trilogy-4 roster but I guess I'm just another nostalgic fanboy lol. I gotta admit that this roster here is pretty legit story wise though.

Sareena, Nitara, Ashrah. Tanya- you definitely included all the MK4-MKD females that I personally wanted to see. Havik & Drahmin are fantastic choices as well! Such a well balanced mixture! And the icing on the cake? Rain!

I'm going to be depressed now because I'm sure the real one won't be as great as this one.

Wait I just noticed Nitara and Ashrah. Nope. Not gonna happen. Drahmin is a stretch too. I could see them bringing back Nightwolf over them. His importance was really highlighted in MK9. But for the others, NRS would likely rather make new, good characters from scratch that suit their new mechanics than try to revamp super obscure ones that 2% of players have heard of.

Good roster, but what makes everyone think that there will only be 4 new characters? I'm hoping we get more than that.

Tanya and Reiko is in there, so I like it. :P

As someone else mentioned, I think Kenshi and Rain will be there. Skarlet might be, if they develop her story a bit. Right now she is just a female Ermac but made out of warriors' blood instead of souls. Pretty boring to me.



Shinnok wasn't playable in MK3. He was in MK4 and that's what made him suck. If they go in a crazy-powerful-sorcerer/god direction with his moveset, he will be amazing. Shao Khan was too powerful in MK9 to be playable. That's what has to happen with Shinnok.



Nitara and Ashrah had a pretty interesting story going on between them in MKA so I could deffinitely see them returning. After all they were two of the best females (or even charactersin general) in the MK4-MKD era. Name 6 better female characters that you would choose over them. Since a roster of 28-34 character will deffinitely have around 6 females.

I want new females because most MK females suck. I hate Sonya, but she's not going anywhere.

Those are the best MK females. I'm not saying they're awesome, they're just the best. And 4 of them (basically 5, with Tanya) are pallete swaps.

You commented in my thread about MKX select screen so you know my stand on how it should look like. But supposing it would accualy matter what we want and we had to make an agreement than I could make compromise like that:

Bo' Rai Cho (but only if he is presented like Shaolin Master, not like vomitting joke)

Would exchange:
Asharah for Reptile
Nitara for Kitana
Drahim for Kung Lao
Baraka for Noob Saibot
Rain for Jax

or instead of exchanging just adding those characters. It is hard for me to imagine the new game without them

Skarlet is another ninja with the same storyline that we've heard 15 times before. A henchman of Shao Khan that wears red and is made out of blood. Ermac anyone? Despite the fact that he is made out of souls and has no boobs, they are basically the same.

Frost is a female Sub Zero with another story that we've seen a lot. She wants to become grandmaster. An evil character that wants the throne. Not original.

Jade, even though she is OG, she hasn't done much either. She is basically Kitana's friend with no importance to the story whatsoever. Plus she just died in the previous game (along with Kitana and Sindel that you also listed), and I don't think they did that to bring them back in the game right away. They deffinitely killed off a bunch of characters, so that there is room for MK4-MKD characters to be fleshed out more in the next game.

Ashrah is extremely unique among the girls, since she is the only one not to always wear skimpy outfits. Her story is also something we haven't seen before in MK. She is a demon slaying her own kind, trying to purify herself and escape the Netherrealm. I mean come on now, can't you see how that is original in MK? There are so many directions they can take her story.

The same goes for Nitara. She is from a new realm. How many possibilities does that give us? Exactly like Seido and Chaosrealm but they didn't use that to their advantage (yet). I just think it makes perfect sense for those characters to come back story-wise.

I also asked you to give me 7 females that are more interesting than those 2 and you gave me 4 that I've already put in my list. Since I already think they are going to be in the game, give me 7 females that are better than Ashrah and Nitara, and that I haven't included here (and that make sense to come back of course, given that they are alive). They are deffinitely going to create new characters but my guess is no more than 4. NRS learned from the mistakes Midway made in the past and I don't think they will bring us a lot more new characters than needed, if they aren't fleshed out nicely.

Good to see Bo and Havik on the select screen.

IMHO, Kitana should replace Nitara.

Nitara should stay. She deserves a second chance.

I really want the select screen more like Deception. I like when they have the top open for character models when you select them. Having the select screen in the middle like MK9 blocks a lot of the screen.
