im hoping the roster size will be 30 slots from the get go and 3-4 DLC. they're saying this will be the game with the most new characters and the current roster count is 12 with only 4 New characters.

Not that I'm care; Fox can go rot for all I care. I'm just pointing out how stupid it is to write off a dead MK character as permanently gone.

24 is the number we have to go on. Its concrete. We've seen 24 spots in the select screen, so we know to expect AT LEAST 24 characters.

Sure, we've been fed bits and pieces of info that lead us to speculate there being more than 24 characters, but its all hearsay until we get a different number. The MK community has been fed bits of info, blown it out of proportion many times before, so I'm just skeptical. If we do get any more than 24 on the initial roster, I will be pleasantly surprised!

Scorpion burned his village down with fox inside and left to find raiden. so I think fox is playable and he's going to mutilate himself like chaos folk. I'm all for it I liked fox.

I agree with speculation comment. It's not fun because they give nothing to speculate on. Everyone should be talking about mkx at this point, not just us diehards pulling shit out of our asses.

We are going to get 24-26 characters in the game, plus 4-6 DLC. If we are lucky, we'll have 32 characters once they stop supporting the game.

It would not kill them to at least show us the official roster. I would be good to know who or what is fighting. This is not Christmas. I know what the hell I'm buying, but that's the nature of this business at the end of the day. The game is not out yet.

I mean ten years ago during the Deception hype all of this mysteriousness and wonderment was fun, but now that I'm older I find myself getting more and more irritated with character reveals being dragged out. We have only 3 months left- just start knocking them out.

I agree, every reveal poses more questions than the ones it answers, it's tiresome.

Ehh, I would much rather not know all of the roster. I would be fine if they showed maybe two more characters and let the rest be a suprise.

Meh to each their own, but I like to know exactly what I'm paying for. Especially since I'm buying a PS4 on top of it. Maybe keeping 1 or 2 characters quiet until release is fine, but I definitely want to know majority of the others.

The only character that I want them to keep secret is the main big bad.

The big bad should indeed not be revealed.

Also, Boon clearly stated the number is not set and it will depend on how many they can squeeze in before release. I also do not expect more than 24-26 and probably 14 old ones tops. For me 24 would be fine, if all characters have depth, good variations and are meaningful to the story. If they waste roster spots on Tanya, Reiko, Jax, Johhny Cage, Sonya, Noob saibot, Smoke, any cyborg, Tremor, Rain, Hotaru and such, then I think it should be huge. Size has hurt MK as a series though. Armageddon and MK 2011 was fine and all, but too many of the same. Quality over quantity any day.

That being said, I think Cassie and Ferra / Torr are already wasted spots, but that's just me. The special agent look is just off and Ferra is just a weird character. I like the idea of a small demon controlling a big dude, but to me they dropped the ball a bit, design wise.

With the variations, the roster is probably going to feel huge even if there are no more characters than MK9.

Totally agree with this. People on this site love getting their hopes up for no reason. We aren't getting a huge roster. I'll be happy with 24 and it wouldn't really bother me if there were even less than that as long as the game is well rounded and fun to play. I also agree that this game very much looks like it will be a little over half the cast of MK9 and the rest new characters with maaaaybe a character from the 3d era as DLC, which is kinda a bummer but thats really how the game seems to be shaping up at the moment.

In this case they should keep certain characters behind closed doors of whom are the most-likely to be the main big bad. If characters such as Liu, Shinnok, Havik, Reiko, etc are to be in the game. That way we won't know who the boss will be as we will be surprised. Say if Liu was revealed within the next two months, he will be out of the picture for boss status.

Would be something if Fujin was boss, and becoming playable via DLC. However, we Fujin fans want him playable from the main roster.

Also, I would like another brute character to join Torr and Goro.

Like someone said before, 28 characters in the main roster (including unlockables) and 6 DLC characters would be the shit.

Exactly, the best part about these games growing up was finding the hidden things yourself.
