MKX's plot as per IMDB: Beginning immediately in the aftermath of Mortal Kombat 9's events, and spanning 25 years thereafter, Earthrealm is endangered once more by the combined forces of Outworld and the Netherrealm.
COMBINED FORCES of Outworld and the Netherrealm huh? If this is true, then things are finally starting to fall into place.

That proves Shinnokh is at least one of the big bad. Sounds like there's multiple in an alliance.
I just want to point out that anyone can edit IMDB. If I wanted to, I could go on there and put the story as "When the forces of Outworld threaten to invade Earthrealm once again, Raiden must call upon the help from his greatest ally...Steven Seagal."
I'm not saying that that can't be a very vague description of the story, I'm just saying to take it as a grain of salt until we hear something from NRS themselves.

An "unexpected big-bad" pretty much rules out Shao Kahn, Shinnok, Onaga and Blaze. Koala[Kotal***] Kahn is now ruling Outworld and it's not him so this kinda puts that into the "bullshit" pile as far as I'm concerned. I believe Shang and Quan are formidable but still a "no".
Did you see the look on Boon's face when asked about it?
No way. Outworld is always a threat but in no way do I see the Big Bad being there. The only one I could see is Onaga but that would take likely Reptile or another as a vessel to come across the egg in story mode. I still believe it's Shujinko.
EDIT: I decided to leave that "Koala Kahn" type-o because it's just so damn perfect. Next big-bad? Haha

The first entry could always come from a synopsis written by the developers, but you're right, we should take things like this with a grain (or a sack) of salt.
Since when would Outworld and Netherrealm combine forces after MK9? Shinnok specifically said that neither "Earthrealm nor Outworld could stand the Netherrealm onslaught".."Earthrealm AND Outworld will be ours." I think is basically just using inside people like Tanya into Outworld so they could exploit and invade Outworld which would lead once again to another invasion of Earthrealm. Or like the powerful Elder God he is, he can just march his forces into Outworld and take over the realm by storm without problem.
DISCLAIMER: Not that I BELIEVE on IMDB that info is true

Sounds like back door dealings. A farce agreement set up by Shinnok to conquer Earthrealm then when outworld is least expecting it turn on them as well.

Pretty funny to see people automatically creaming their shorts over something posted on IMDb, famous harbinger of false information.

The well has run dry again. We need Gamescom.
Yeah I agree with krajax. I was under the impression that Shinnok wanted to rule Outworld as well. Maybe he actually does until Kotal comes along and wipes him out. That ought to be pretty intimidating for Raiden, especially since the ancient battle against Shinnok raged for years.

It sounds to me like there's an alliance between Kotal Kahn and Shinnok but I'm still saying that King Jerrod is the boss of MKX, I believe his soul will be corrupt from all the evil souls in Ermac!

If Netherrealm and Outworld are joining forces to take on Earthrealm, then we may get some of the "undead" characters from the Netherrealm in MK9?
Could Kotal be a bad guy and can we possibly see Bo Rai Cho?

I'm merely surprised he's having a hand in this. He was always great in Futurama. Excited to see which character(s) he'll be portraying.

He was in Injustice too. So its not that surprising he'd come back to work with them. I'm just glad Steve Blum is finally in MK.

Isn't Ferra voiced by Tara Strong? It sure sounds like it.
Anyways, never, ever trust IMDB. Even the MK9 page lists 2 or 3 voice actresses for Jade.
I'm fairly certain not too long ago the IMDB synopsis for MKX said something to the effect of "Scorpion and Sub-Zero team up after learning the truth about Quan Chi".
Someone just decided to do some speculation and change it again, probably.

I wasn't aware of that.
I just looked up his filmography. Now THAT is an impressive list. What's the rumor on him? Sub-Zero?

Keep in mind that IMDb is an open-submission site. Anyone can post anything and no one bothers with fact checking. Case in point, the multiple voice actors for Jade.
