Cyrax

Bio: Originally a skilled Motswana warrior, Cyrax was one of the few members of the Lin Kuei who opposed Sektor's Cyber Initiative. Despite an act of rebellion, Cyrax was eventually subdued and Cyberised against his will, reduced to a soulless, eternally-obedient machine. Before the destruction of the Cyber Lin Kuei, however, Cyrax was subjected to Phase Two modifications, rendering his cybernetics impossible to remove without completely reconstructing his organic body; in fact, all that's left of his organic body are his brain, spinal cord and a few internal organs. After Sektor's death, Cyrax's Phase Two failsafe subroutines kicked in, compelling him to eliminate Sub-Zero and regain control of the Lin Kuei for the Cyber Initiative.

Appearance: As a result of Sektor's Phase Two Cyber modifications, Cyrax appears even less human than before; his body is slightly more skeletal, and his cyber armour is somewhat more angular-looking, albeit no less streamlined (similar to Cyber-Smoke circa Deception). In addition, his green eyes have been joined together to create a 'visor' that covers a significant portion of his helmet, with his breathing apparatus flattened into an armoured plate in order to minimise weak points.

Entrance 1: Cyrax teleports in and examines the opponent, raising one arm and deploying his forearm-mounted weapon (depending on the Variation chosen) in a threatening manner. When the camera cuts back to him, he un-deploys the weapon and gets into his fighting stance. When using his Subterfuge Variation, he uses his classic Buzz-Saw. In his Pulse Variation, it's a green Pulse Blade. In his Integrated Variation, it's Sektor's Flamethrower.

Entrance 2: Cyrax walks towards the opponent, twisting one of his bombs. He then loads the bomb into his chest compartment, thumping his fist against said compartment.

Win Pose: Cyrax allows his defeated opponent to rise to their feet, only to envelop them with his Energy Net, causing them to topple to their knees. He then kicks them over, squashes their head underfoot and begins fiddling with an arm console, observing a holographic display.

Default Moves:

Bomb (Close/Medium/Far) (Unusable in his Integrated Variation): Cyrax dispenses a Bomb from his chest compartment, at varying distances. The explosion does damage and also rockets the opponent into the air.
Meter Burn - Sticky Bomb: Cyrax launches a special Bomb with blades attached; if it hits the opponent, the blades get lodged into their body before exploding, doing extra damage.
Energy Net: Cyrax launches a green (blue in the Integrated Variation) Energy projectile which transforms into a Net, ensnaring the opponent and immobilising them for three-to-four seconds.
Meter Burn - Sharpened Net: The Net's intensity is increased, doing Chip damage while the opponent is trapped.
Reverse Kick: Cyrax bends over backwards and performs an especially acrobatic kick, sending the opponent flying to the other side of him.
Meter Burn - Kapoeira Kicks: Cyrax performs two additional, Kapoeira-inspired kicks before sending the opponent flying.
Teleport (Altered in his Integrated Variation): Cyrax rockets his various modular components away, reassembling behind the opponent.



Grabs:

Forward Throw: Cyrax grabs the opponent by the neck, knees them in the chest twice, and then performs a frontflip, slamming the opponent into the ground in front of him.
Backward Throw: Cyrax grabs the opponent by the neck, knees them in the chest twice, and then flips over them, striking them in the back to fling them in the other direction.



Variations and Moves:

Subterfuge: In this variation, Cyrax uses his classic Buzz-Saw in his combos. He also has access to additional grapples and counters, with an emphasis on defence and airborne control.

Buzz-Saw: Cyrax stands still and holds out one arm, deploying his Buzz-Saw, cutting through the opponent's head if it connects.
Meter Burn - Saw Blade: Cyrax detaches his Buzz-Saw, shooting it out of his arm as a projectile.
Anti-Air Grab: Cyrax jumps into the air to intercept airborne opponents; if he catches them, he tosses them to the ground.
Meter Burn - Power Anti-Air: This enables Cyrax to jump even further, almost across the entire screen.
Ragdoll: After performing a Reverse Kick, Cyrax follows up by catching the opponent's neck between his ankles and slamming them into the ground.
Meter Burn - Ragdolls: Cyrax continues to keep hold of the opponent's neck and swings them overhead, letting them go halfway to fling them to the other side of the stage.
Frankensteiner: A kounter attack. If Cyrax is attacked while using this move, he instantly teleports behind them and performs a Frankensteiner, jumping overhead and gripping the opponent's head between his thighs, slamming them to the ground.
Meter Burn - Frankensteiner Plus: If attacked, Cyrax teleports behind them like normal, but then grabs the opponent from behind and knees them twice in the spine before performing the Frankensteiner.



Pulse: In this variation, Cyrax has additional armour-plating around his 'visor', making it appear much more thin. It grants Cyrax a number of attacks involving a pair of pulse blades, as well as increasing his overall damage. Places more emphasis on offence and rushing the opponent.

Da Choppa: Cyrax stands still and rapidly spins his upper body around while his legs remain in place, his Pulse Blades out, striking enemies multiple times and propelling them away.
Meter Burn - Mobile Choppa: Cyrax dashes forward while performing the above, and also follows up with an upward slash to send the opponent into the air.
Pulse Swing: Cyrax charges close to the opponent and stabs them with both Pulse Blades, before swinging them overhead to slam them into the ground.
Meter Burn - Human Punch Kard: Cyrax stabs the opponent three more times before swinging them overhead.
Airstrike (Anti-Air/Anti-Ground): Cyrax rockets himself toward the opponent, either downwards or upwards, with his Pulse Blade held out.
Meter Burn - Double Airstrike: If the above connects, Cyrax follows up by teleporting to the other side of the opponent and repeating the move.



Integrated: In this variation, the lights on Cyrax's armour are blue instead of green. Here he is equipped with Sektor's flamethrower and missiles, having 'integrated' the former grand-master's hardware, hence the name. The flamethrower and missiles completely replace his buzz-saw and bombs, respectively, giving him a significantly longer range overall. His Teleport is also weaponised.

Missile (Straight/Upward (Far/Medium/Close)): Replacing his Bombs, Cyrax simply launches a Missile at the opponent, either straight at them or in an arc of differing width.
Meter Burn - Homing Missile: When launching an Upward Missile, the Missile locks onto the opponent, making it harder to evade.

Meter Burn - Triple Missile: When launching a Straight Missile, Cyrax launches three in quick succession, doing more overall damage.
Flamethrower: Cyrax stands still and unleases a surge of flames from his forearms, doing sustained damage to any opponents caught within.
Meter Burn - Long-Range Flames: This gives the Flamethrower a significantly longer range.
Teleport Attack (Ground Only): An adaptation of Sektor's Cyber Uppercut, Cyrax teleports behind the opponent and strikes them with a mighty uppercut, launching them into the air.
Meter Burn - Shin Teleport: After the teleport, Cyrax throws a gut punch, an elbow and an uppercut in quick succession.



X-Ray:

Cyberdriver Mk. II: Cyrax initiates the move by performing a Double Scissor Kick to disorient the opponent. At which point he punches them in the chest, breaking their ribcage open and making them keel over. He then dispenses a Bomb (or a Missile in his Integrated variation) and bashes them on the head with it, breaking their skull. He then tosses the Bomb/Missile towards their feet before teleporting away. The ensuing explosion deals more damage and launches the opponent into the air, at which point Cyrax teleports back in, grabs the opponent while they are upside-down, and performs a devastating Piledriver, breaking the opponent's neck against the floor.



Fatalities:

Cyber-Blender: Cyrax shoves his forearm upwards inside the opponent's lower chest cavity. At which point he deploys his Buzz-Saw (regardless of Variation; had to overlook that for the sake of this Fatality) and slowly moves it upwards, completely liquefying most of the victim's internal organs. He then undeploys his Buzz-Saw, removes his arm, and simply steps back and observes as the opponent's arms and head collapse into their now-empty torso, leaking blood everywhere.
Disassemble Equals Dead!: Cyrax grabs the opponent's arms and then teleports behind them, ripping them off in the process. He repeats the process with their legs, and finally their head (shoving his fingers into their eye sockets just beforehand) splitting it into two pieces which he nonchalantly drops onto the floor.



Brutalities:

WTFBOOM (all Variations): To achieve this, Cyrax must hit the opponent with Bombs/Missiles at least twice, and the final hit must be a Meter Burn Sticky Bomb or a Meter Burn Homing Missile. The Bomb/Missile explodes, obliterating the opponent's torso, leaving only their head and limbs.
Kick The Kan (all Variations): To achieve this, Cyrax must hit the opponent with the Reverse Kick at least twice, and the final hit must be the Meter Burn Kapoeira Kicks. Cyrax does six Kapoeira Kicks instead of the usual two, weaking the opponent's neck, before Reverse-Kicking their head into the air, leaving their blood-squirting corpse to fall to the ground.
Saw-ry (Subterfuge Variation Only): To achieve this, Cyrax must take more than 66% damage during the match, and his last hit must be a regular Buzz-Saw. Instead of the usual attack, Cyrax slowly cuts the opponent down the middle with his Buzz-Saw, separating them into two halves which fall in opposite directions.
Slice 'N' Dice (Pulse Variation Only): To achieve this, Cyrax must simply land a full Meter Burn Mobile Choppa on the opponent as the final hit. Here, Cyrax slices the opponent into four horizontal segments with his Pulse Blades before slicing them straight down the middle, causing them to collapse into eight segments.
Sektor's Revenge (Integrated Variation Only): To achieve this, Cyrax must do more than 10% damage with his Flamethrower, and the final hit must also be with the Flamethrower. Quite simply, Cyrax roasts the opponent alive with his Flamethrower, burning their skin off, much like Goro's Tigrar Fury brutality.
Hara-Kiri II (all Variations): To even attempt this move, both Cyrax and his opponent must be down to their last 5% health. Cyrax fiddles with his arm console and activates a self-destruct sequence, blowing himself up. If the opponent is caught in the blast, they are blown up as well, and Cyrax wins. If they evade it, however, they win.

Ending: "Having narrowly escaped destruction at the hands of Sub-Zero's resurgent Lin Kuei, the reprogrammed Cyrax spent many arduous months camped outside the heavily-guarded Lin Kuei stronghold, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. Finally, with the Lin Kuei's ranks thinned from the battle with Kotal Kahn's forces, Sub-Zero was exhausted and attempted to rest at the stronghold. Cyrax took the opportunity to strike. Sub-Zero was struck down, and Cyrax would have finished him had it not been for the timely intervention of Dark Raiden.

Teleported away, Dark Raiden explained to Cyrax that Sub-Zero's Lin Kuei were useful, but they were far too moralistic and honour-bound for his liking. Thus, he needed a secret underbelly to the Lin Kuei, one who would do clandestine dirty work for Earthrealm... a niche Cyrax and the remnants of the Cyber Lin Kuei filled nicely. Given new programming, Cyrax has been placed in charge of Earth's Cyber Secret Police: the Tekunin."

Here's another idea for Cyrax's ending.

After Shinnok's demise, Cyrax began to malfunction and collapse to the ground. Special Forces recovered Cyrax from the Jinsei chamber and took him into an emergency room. Cyrax's data was erased, but his humanity was restored.

As a new asset to Special Forces, Cyrax vows to atone for his wrongdoings and protect Earthrealm.
