Glad I worked today now, because I would have gone crazy waiting for her lol.
Hopefully she will get an alt down the line before the fire burns out for the MKX lifecycle. But ANY and ALL DLC alternate costumes should be free.

Tanya is very interesting to play as, but I can help but feel that she has Li Mei's ability to be flexible.
Her intro, outro, and specific special moves all remind me of how Li Mei was very flexible and moved her body in impossible or very rare ways.
If Tanya appears in the future, I want her moveset to be based upon witchcraft because that would suit her much better than pyro-based attacks. I also think that her Naginata based attacks should go to Jade and her Bo if she returns in the future.
Li Mei could have the ability to move her body in impossible ways, like a contortionist and have attacks similar to the ones Jubilee has in X-Men before she became a vampire.

That said, Tanya is amazing in MKX, all 3 variations are solid and fit her.

Having a lot of fun with her Kubu jutsu variation. I haven't given the other variations a try just yet but from what I've played so far, I'm actually really surprised how well shes fitting into my play style. I'm giving her a try online now to see how well I hold up lol.

Despite Tanya being one of my least favorite characters, she is quite fun to play as. She has a lot of good tools and is very solid all around. It's clear a lot of work went into her and it gives me hope for Tremor and Predator.

Yes, Take all the things that makes this character amazing in this game and give it to other characters.
Fuck that. There can be more than one fucking flexible character and who knows when or if Li Mei will return?
Fans need to stop with the "Oh so and so used to do that in that one game 10 years ago so they're the only ones who can do it ever!" Mentality.
Tanya is perfect and I do not want her flexibility taken or her.Nagiata for stupid reasons such as that. Dont fix what ain't broke. They can find a new gimmick for Li Mei whenever she return. And as for Jade- they can give her back her staff from Kitana. Tanya has nothing to do with her.

Disagree, there is no better feeling than trashing and humiliating a Jason and inferno scorpion in Sonya's rose pink Mk1 colour, lol. I've noticed rage quitting/quitalities on the rise.
As for Tanya welcome addition to a roster that lacks female characters, she makes the roster feel more complete, she even plays really well.
I wish her eyes were variation centric but it's no big deal.

It really looks quite tacky to replay story and she a completely different looking woman.
She probably was changed because of complaints, long after it was already too late to change her Story model. Fans don't like it when things are different. To get her updated in Story Mode though, they would have needed to remaster every scene she appears in and patch a giant chunk of video files to thousands and thousands of people. It's very cost and resource intensive, compared to what it takes to simply patch a character model, sound files and some mocap.

No one else has Li Mei's ability to be flexible. Sonya has gymnastics, but very little flexibility. Tanya is a hybrid of gymnastics and a touch of capoeira. Both kinds of movements can be achieved by a real human. Li Mei defies the laws of body mechanics by twisting her legs in an impossible way (in just one move, mind you -- people seem to want to build her entire fighting style around that single kick, while Havik actually had multiple contortions).

Do the inputs slowly. You want to take two steps backwards and two steps forwards without dashing. Works every time and I find it's less tricky than the "hold block" method, which messes up for me sometimes.

She probably was changed because of complaints, long after it was already too late to change her Story model. Fans don't like it when things are different. The Tanya model looked highly unfinished in the Story mode. Also the Tanya Background Card included at launch has her updated look and always did. Many of the NPC models look unfinished, especially Sareena's. So I think she was always intended to be updated.
And "remastering every scene" she appears wouldn't be that difficult. "Patching a giant chunk of video files" wouldn't be "giant". It's a patch. They do it all the time. Her sound files and animations are already done. All the charachters but Goro use the same skeleton (Not literal skeleton. Skeleton meaning the points of articulation that a model is put on so they can perform animations in 3D animation software) so all they'd have to do is replace the old model with the new model and render it. Then include them in a patch. (She's in like 3 scenes. It wouldn't be bigger than a gygabite.)
They likely intend to update the Story mode, but just didn't get around to it this patch.
