What's not to get? What Kitana said was actually very arrogant. "Your very presence mocks me." She's basically saying Cassie isn't even worth fighting. Like she's a waste. Which makes Cassie's comeback all the more brilliant and hilarious.

Gotta say, even though Kitana's my fav, Cassie's response was both warranted and epic.


I understood what each character said.

but Cassie's "comeback" makes no fucking sense. how does she get "presence mocks me" and "kick my ass" confused?

(i think she's on drugs)

Also, for everyone complaining about the dialogue.....it's just basic trash talking. If the characters don't have history between each other then you can't expect a lot of deep story-related conversations. Hell, Scorpion and Subzero out of everyone seem to have the blandest exchange so far.

She and Cassie obviously hate each other's guts, that's for certain.

I wonder how this rivalry will play out in story mode.

I wouldn't read into this stuff too much. It's just trash talking, not necessarily representative of the plot of the game.

They're not going to have characters who are allies say nice things to each other.

Sonya - oh hey cassie, how's the special forces

casse - great mom, doing well

sonya - oh that's my snookums

People are really missing the boat with these dialogues.

Each of these fights are basically a "what if these two fought", hypothetical scenario. Kitana and Cassie are likely allies in the game's plot, however for arcade or 1v1 fights, everyone is fighting everyone.

Cassie v Kitana here is just like "if something happened and these two characters came to blows, what might they say?" Its a hypothetical scenario for versus mode where anyone can fight anyone else.

Another good example is that Kotal v FerraTorr dialogue. "I mean to restore you!" Kotal is like, why are you fighting me, dummy?! Im on your side!

Tbh I think people are just thrown by Kitana being such a biyotch. It makes it seem more combative than it is.

Cassie is guilty by association because Johnny/Sonya didn't try to save Kitana from the Netherrealm.

My theory is that Liu Kang saved her and Kung Lao.
