Frankly, I'm kind of shocked this isnt being more widely discussed on this site and/or other MK hubs....this is all over the net, and I've been dealing with this for 24 hours now and have exhausted all resources ideas prior to posting. So now I'm going to share my experience with this community in the hopes that others may have had more success in resolving this persistent issue.

If some of you have not already heard, there is a widespread issue where digital copies (or I thought it digital only at least) of the game are experiencing a blue screen (error code CE-34878-0) as the game launches. This was not an issue for me until update file 1.02 was downloaded in addition to the samurai pack (the first blue screen i got happened while in the game and downloading the samurai pack from the in game menus. As soon as it downloaded, boom, blue screen, had issues since.

See here for details: http://www.twinfinite.net/2015/04/18/mortal-kombat-x-error-ce-34878-0-what-to-do-if-youre-experiencing-this-ps4-mkx-glitch/

So as someone who bought the premium edition digitally simply to play it immediately at midnight, I first reinstalled the game. This did not solve the issue. Then, I read in various posts re: this issue that simply signing out of your profile and signing back in after the game loads is a temporary workaround. Now, this does work, I can load the game offline just fine, with all of my content working properly, my krypt koins intact, and all of my unlocks intact. I did also attempt to sign-in after the main menu loaded, with success, and was able to access the game in its entirety. However, I have also read of numerous users eventually encountering corrupted data files upon using this method repeatedly.

So, in reading that the issues were persistent only amongst digital copies of the game, i went out and grabbed the physical disc from a local retailer, in hopes that it would remedy the issue. I deleted all of my MKX digital data, and re-installed directly from the disc. Now, in loading the game prior to the patch file downloading, everything worked fine (though obviously networked portions of the game wouldn't activate until the patch finished)....so I waited for the patch to finish, sure that my problem was fixed with a disc-version....no such luck. After the patch installs, I attempted to load my game (from disc this time), another blue screen. Awesome!

So i'm at a point now where I thankfully can load the game for practicing purposes and limited tower play offline, with all of my content intact. I also CAN get online once the main menu loads and sign-in via my psn account and WBID successfully, without losing anything or compromising any content I already had, including stats, costumes, unlocks, etc. So it seems my data file is fine, as all of this stuff seemingly would not load if it was a 'corrupt' file.

With the patch installed, I cannot load the game while online, and I am greatly concerned with losing my data if I continue to try these "workarounds", i've now spent over $160 dollars (between 2 copies of the game and the fightpad, (I traded in a few titles to save money on the physical disc i eventually was going to buy anyway for collectors reasons)), and I've put in a ton of hours on the game (i'm level 50 faction and personal), all of my krypt areas are unlocked and i have a ton of krypt grave unlocks.

It doesnt seem like my files are corrupt, that doesnt make sense considering I can access everything I had previous to these issues so long as I am not signed into PSN. WB has issued instructions to use the "workaround" method of signing back in once the game loads but I dont trust it considering the users who have responded loss of data or corrupted data utilizing this workaround. Just curious if anyone has had any experience similar to mine, and also to make you guys aware that may be having this issue; that buying the physical disc after this issue starts DOES NOT seem to solve it.

i don't understand why I can view hundreds of broadcasts of people playing the game with no issues but my game is seemingly broken. How come the patch didn't screw up their game too if it seems to be the only element involved impacting mine?

I've tried everything. I don't know what to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team... I don't know what he's talking about.

Well my issue doesn't really have anything to do with that other than I installed the update yesterday, played for a few hours. Woke up this morning and my PS4 bricked and wont turn on. At all. Have to send it to Sony. Its real awesome. Disc is stuck in there too. Real friggin cool...

I don't think the two are connected other than I'm more than pissed about it. Especially that Sony's Customer Service isn't available on Sundays. It blows my mind that a company of Sony's size doesn't have 24/7 support....

NetherRealm are working on a full patch, but here's a temporary work around:

1. Sign out of PSN by going to Home Menu > Settings > PlayStation Network/Account Management > Sign Out

2. Launch Mortal Kombat X

3. After reaching the main menu of Mortal Kombat X sign back into PSN by going to Home Menu > Settings > PlayStation Network/Account Management > Sign In

Hope that helps.

absolutely, I love Mortal Kombat and have been waiting a long time to experience this game. I thought it was a digital-only issue but my issue persists even after installing from disc and removing the digital files.

I found it only loads properly without patch 1.02. I also did see the workaround, thank you for posting. I've also seen numerous users reporting corrupted save data after using this workaround so i'm concerned about that although it has worked for me to play the game. I don't want to lose my save data ya know? Even the risk is enough to dissuade me from trying until a more permanent fix arrives.

WB removed that workaround link from their page btw....it was up for 24 hours and has been abruptly taken down this morning. Probably something to do with the corrupted data reports but that's just me speculating.

I love MK so much I just want to play :(

So just to reiterate:

Only an issue after Update File 1.02 is installed
Issue persistent with both digitally installed and physically installed versions of the game.

Seems like so many aren't having any issues at all....it's so confusing and frustrating.
