posted02/08/2015 03:36 AM (UTC)byDibulaShortly after the events of MK9, we find our heroes, Sonya, Johnny, and Raiden (all played by Mel Gibson) left with a broken world. Sparing no time to allow Earthrealm (Nebraska) to recover, the Neather Realm attacks. Lord Shinnok (Shyamalan), on the brink of victory, is then betrayed by his most trusted servant, Quan Chi (Paul Giamatti). In a moment of euphoric weakness at his victory, Quan Chi is defeated by a young Cassie Cage (Abigail Breslin) when she pours a cup of dirty tapwater all over his tattoos.
Meanwhile in Outworld, Kotal Kahn (Bruce Willis) wages war with Mileena (Bryce Dallas Howard) for the throne. As the war carries into Earthrealm (Remote swimming pool), Sonya Blade (Mel Gibson) confronts Kotal Kahn, demanding him return to his realm. After a brief Skirmish, Raiden (Gibson) learns that Kung Lao (Joaquin Phoenix) still lives, under the explanation that his broken neck only hurt a little bit.
Not giving a shit about Raiden's sass, Kung Lao goes his own way to stop Kotal Kahn from recovering the Kamidogu. Successful in this endeavor, he shatters each of the Kamidogu with his chainsaw hat. Upon doing so, the spirit of The One Being is re-assembled into Mokap, the entity that controls the destiny of each character right down to their very movements.
Before destroying Kung Lao, The One Being, AKA Mokap, leaves him with one last secret:
Kung Lao, has in fact, been dead this whole time.
