Will MK's Techno Syndrome return in this game? PLEASE not like how the one had the rap. It just doesn't fit it.

Every game has had its own Main Theme, with varying results. But there is no ONE MK theme, and especially not the Techno Syndrome song. That song has never had any connection to the games, despite its cultural impact elsewhere. I don't think it needs to have any connection, either. Techno, house, trance, etc. just aren't MK in my opinion. Crazy, frantic, hellish Asian melodies are what MK music has been about, with a few turns here and there.
MK music needs a hard kick in the ass right now, so if Forden and co want to try NEW things then I'm all for it. But stepping WAY backwards to the Techno Syndrome song is not the way to do it.

Though it's tied to the movie, I will always consider it the official MK anthem. Kind of like how the original "Go Go Power Rangers" will always be the Power Rangers theme despite the fact there are like 60 other versions of the Power Rangers.
Techno itself is very 90's, and being Mortal Kombat came out of the 90's to me it's always going to attached to one another.

I wish they would get the rights for it and just include it in the games already, it's basically THE theme of Mortal Kombat at this point. Might as well own it.
It sounds dated and corny as hell as is, but it could easily be rearanged in a more modern sound / instruments, to fit the games.

To this day the theme song gets referenced. Recently I remember it being used on the show Gravity Falls in the video game themed episode, even though the theme wasn't actually ever in any of the games. It still is synonymous with MK, and to distance themselves from it I'm not sure is the right move.
If the main stream audience eats it up, why hide it instead of taking advantage of it?

I like the song and I think it might be cool hearing portions of the melodies in it remixed into a new theme, but putting it into a new game in 2015 wholesale would be a little too "nostalgia" for me personally.
To me that theme represents more MK as a franchise than it does the series of games.

True.
It worked well in the movies but would seem really out of place in a game, especially now.

The MK techno theme is one of the legacies established in the series, it helped MK become distinct and popular. All them clubs played it for a while, too.
However, it doesn't really fit in the direction the series has gone. But if NRS can concoct another bop that helps promote the series into higher popularity, I say go for it.

I know it will never happen but I'm all for it. As far as it not fitting the tone of the game. Guys, watch any MK Trailer with Techno Syndrome added to it. It fits every game every time lol. It's cheesy sure but I dunno, I think they could be kind of funny about it.
We know there's some kind of urban stage. I don't know if it's some kind of cage fight but there is some sort of cage. Some fight club stage with Techno Syndrome playing in the background would make me happy as hell. They could even rotate it to make it more of an easter egg. It would just come on rarely, the main theme would be something more modern.

I tend to agree with that statement but when mixed with enough Asian influence it can sound good IMO. The Armory was the only tune from MK9 I can actually remember.

They did, and it sucked horribly.
I would gladly appreciate hearing it in future games. I still listen to it, hell I dance to it and I can't dance, but I somehow do it.
It's like Pump Up the Jam. It's so 90s and yet, you like it even if you don't, you had to have at some point.
And if you just flat out hated it since the beginning... rawr, I got nothing.
I've never seen anybody on these forums with a modicum of good taste make a sensible suggestion as to BGM in Mortal Kombat, no offense. Music tastes are extremely subjective, and those of MK fans are no different. For every person who likes your given Adema or Wiz Kalifa track, you'll have 10 others who hate it.
MK shouldn't cater to a specific genre, ever. The best case scenario is you'll get something like the SF Third Strike soundtrack or that of the Guilty Gear series which appeals to respective rap or metal fans but alienates everyone else.
Personally, I think MK's been really lucky so far in that it's had a number of great tunes, even if they're not up to the level of the old SFII soundtrack. While it'd be nice to have MK known for something like that, it's wishful thinking. I'd submit that MK has more classic stage tunes than a lot of other fighters out there. I've never known an MK game to have a thoroughly bad soundtrack; there are always a few winning cuts even if the work as a whole isn't standout.
I'd say they should just keep going with what they're doing. It's worked well enough so far.

I've been really, really digging all the music that's been used in the trailers so far. I hope that's the kind of music we'll see in the game.
The techno track has a place, sure, but it doesn't seem thematically appropriate for MKX.

I agree, that shit made me hype as a kid. I don't know why so many people disliked it. I thought it worked well for MK at least for that game.
EDIT: I agree 100% with Shad. Great stuff, seriously on point
