Oct or November of 2010

There is no set date really...most of us estimate late 2010 but it is possible that it could release anywhere between July and December...it all depends on how smooth everything goes from now til then. In some ways it would be nice to see it on shelves around late 2nd to 3rd quarter of 2010 because there seems to be a game drought around that time...according to ign.com estimated release dates of a lot of other games are aiming for the first quarter of the year or around the holidays in December. Most of these games have been pushed back a few times though and could get pushed back again but from estimation on that it would be best to release inbetween other anticipated releases which would be between mid to late summer and late fall (before Black Friday).

In a nutshell: Nobody has a clue.

how can they make an MK9 when they haven't even made MK8 yet?, and don't say MK vs DCU is MK8 because it isn't simply because it's set before MK3.

There's been 8 MK games made: (Despite there's actually more that was made, but this is the way we're all probably looking at)

MK3/UMK3 (Combining since it's still considered MK3)

Deadly Alliance (MK5)
Deception (MK6)
Armageddon (MK7)
Mk. Vs DC (MK8)

No I'm not including Trilogy because... yeah, I'm just not.

And majority of the users here are going with this, so basically, this "next" game is considered MK9.

Yeah,I always wondered why Trilogy never had a number but that would be the list to go by. Like it or not that is how even the MK team are making it.
Typing this made me think of some concept names to post on the title concept thread lol.

I'd consider MK: Trilogy as MK3/UMK3.

I am still a firm believer now that MK9 will never happen. So, release date? Never.

I visited TRMK but clearly it is stated 2010 with a picture of scorpion wearing a santa hat. I mean I don't visit the site regularly and am not really involved with it much but I pop in to scope the front page headlines. Its stated by late holiday season...also if you read the way it is stated its not a set date anyway. Its estimated. If you think about it though,it could be possible that it could be pushed back to 2011...many other games have been pushed back some more than once. Here is to hoping they don't rush but get it out soon...I am gettin antsy to play MK9 :o)

i just hope that when it do comes out that it not around the time that call of duty is coming out. 4 the last 3 year cod have been releasing there game around november. I just think that if people r not a mk fan most likely they would buy cod first without giving mk a chance. i just won't mk 2 b a huge selling game. i just think that they should come out months b4 or some months after. because cod is a huge selling game and i just dont want it 2 mess the sells of mk up. because if there not another huge selling game coming out the same time as mk they would probably pick up alot of more fans who r looking 4 a new game 2 play because there nothing else out at the time.

Good point. The excitement for another MK game is not strong to non-fans. They need to make sure that it is released at a time away from other games like Call Of Duty. The new MK game could be great, but some may not give it a chance because of "lack of interest" if it is released around the same time as one of these newly high selling games, even if the new MK is epic.
