well if its implying what i think its implying- the retelling of the first Mortal Kombat. And/Or the telling of the origins of the tournament of Mortal Kombat, then I love it and was exactly what I was expecting from this game.

If I'm not mistaken, GameFAQ's is notorious for making errors in regards to MK and its stories and all. We will simply have to wait and see official info on the next MK game.

It just says Mortal Kombat (working title), it means they haven't come up with a title yet.
It certainly is possible keeping the name like that, take Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox for example, it wasn't the first game but it had the original title. So we'll see.

While I agree that it is just a working title, remember that older franchises DO name the newest game in their series the same name as the first sometimes. Think Sonic the Hedgehog and (an example from Midway itself) Spy Hunter.

I don't see the point in tagging the working title of all things.
If this is the title they stick with, I wouldn't care. You can't really confuse it with the first game.

In my opinion i couldnt really care less about the title ok..................Mortal Kombat would be cool because it does sort of imply the rebirth of a new opening for the game but i dont care what they call it i just want them to make it really really good and SUPURP because i think MK should be thwe top on the mark when it comes to fighting games like it was back in 92 when it was first released.
i think they need to bring back the oh my god factor of the game like do something that no one has seen yet
i just want the best MK game ever!!!!!! please make it the best it can be ED BOON

Is this really confirmed Simplicity is not always the best solution.

It will most likely have some type of title afterwards to emphasize what the game is about. Granted that this could be a remake, but why? No need. Also if this isn't a remake and just to give it that "simplicity or rebirth" it still should tag a title to have meaning. Just in my opinion.
