MKX will consist of characters from the MK4-MKD timeline and will include the "survivors" from MK9. Not all the new characters from MK4-MKD will make the cut for the final roster. There is a possibility that they could be implemented in the storyline or come in as DLC.
There are a handful of the newcomers from MK4-MKD that I would like to be playable either on the main roster or as DLC.

I would like to see Jarek, Sareena, Kai, Li Mei and Meat..for instance. If even a few of them will be playable, it's all good...Jack! If not, I will be one unhappy camper, but, there won't be anything that I can do about it.

I would be surprised If Jax came back as more of a cyborg as it showed in one of his or Kano's MK2011 endings. Would I be happy if he came in as DLC? Hell Yeah.

Every character should have their own Storymode! If not, at least let us have the option of FINISHING off the opponent in storymode :)

I wouldn't be surprised if the sequel's "new" characters just included MK4 and Deadly Alliance and then star the Deception and Armageddon characters in a "third" game after some bullshit ending in the second game where Onaga emerges and "gives his speech about uniting the Realms for the One Being" cliché. So I think there will be a trilogy in the new MK storyline, but I'm not really optimistic.

Here's my character prediction:

MK4:
- Kai
- Shinnok
- Fujin
- Tanya
- Reiko

MKDA:
- Li Mei
- Bo'Rai Cho
- Drahmin
- Sareena
- Mavado

MKD:
- Ashrah
- Havik

Tremor & Khameleon (- only)

The only characters I know will definitely make it into MK10 are Tanya, Fujin, and Kai.

Bo' Rai Cho is highly likely to be in the game, but if isn't definite, much to my dismay. Havik is also just as likely, but also not definite.

Something tells me MK10 will be based only on Mortal Kombat 4, so I doubt any post-MK4 characters other than Bo' Rai Cho and Havik will make it into the game. If anyone, it will probably be Li Mei.

What I am hoping for, however, is that Meat makes a fine return. His inclusion in Armageddon marks NRS' acknowledgement of the once rumored character, and considering Meat spawned from MK4, it may be possible he will return in MK10, even if only as DLC.

If MK10 is going to be only based on MK4, what does that say for MKDA and MKD? I can't see NRS making a third addition apart from MKA.
If Tanya, Fujin and Kai are probable to make it, then I'm sure the whole MK4 kast will make it. Jarek please!
Meat is a must! I didn't see him as a joke character at all. He was like the rest. I enjoyed playing as him.
Bo Rai Cho could be around at this time and will be in MK10. I'm also in for Li Mei, but, not too sure about Havik.

I have a few predictions, but they don't all pertain to characters.

- MK10 will have Shinnok as a playable boss. (Like Shang Tsung)

- MK10 will feature console exclusive guest characters.

- I have a strong feeling Sareena will return as a playable character, DLC character, or at the very least a cameo.

- MK10 will keep X-Rays

- One of the obscure finishers will return (Either Animialities, Brutalities, or Friendships).

- MK10 will continue the Season Pass DLC tradition.

Friendships!! they've been gone far too long :)

I'd love to see the return of Friendships as well. The Babalities in MK 9 were amusing and well done; that being said I think NRS can go for broke with the next-gen tech and get very creative with Friendships and make them very cinematic and quite hilarious.

I also would like to see the return of Animalities, but give the characters a reason to have them. Like being present in the Choas Realm gives the characters the ability to morph in to an animal; something like that and I'm totally on board.

I would love to see any of the other finishers. Except Babalities, since we just had them. But if I had to pick it would be Animalties, those were always the most outlandish of the finishers.

I wouldn't mind them skipping Babalities for MK10 either. I was looking through the endings for MK9 earlier and Nightwolf's got me very interested in the possibility of Animalities for future installments. Nightwolf morphing in to a werewolf, Reptile in to a velociraptor, maybe some Outworld characters morphing in to animals of that particular realm. The possibilities are endless in that regard. It could end up being executed poorly, but just throwing the idea out there.

I want to see Tremor.

Animalities please! Have the characters morph into real animals and not how they looked in MK3.

If Sareena is to be in MK10, she should be human for her main and demon form for her alt.

Sub-Zero must have his Ice Grenade Fatality from MK2!!

Apart from characters having two fatalities each, they can implement the brutality as a super move during the game. it should also include their X-Ray at the end of it.
