How does Mortal Kombat VS. Tekken sound?
To answer your question, I think that would be a horrible idea.
See, people here on this site confuse me a lot. You have people who DO NOT want this crossover game to even be release by how immaturely they're overreacting about it.
Others beleive that they want to see a crossover game that doesn't even feature gore at all. Street Fighter doesn't that much and I'm pretty sure that Tekken doesn't feature any at all.
I'm not trying to bitch about this idea, I'm just saying that if the people here are going to cry over a game that won't feature as much blood and gore as they were shown with the previous games, what will make things better in featuring another crossover game with no blood and gore at all? It's something to think about when you want to have two totally different games crossover when one goes to the extreme with blood and guts when the other doesn't feature anything like that at all in their game?

I just edited your thread, and I'm asking that you actually post some real content for discussion in here, otherwise I'm going to close the thread. You can't just ask a simple question and expect every other user to do the talking for you.

although both are 2 of the best fighters, i dunno. i actually do prefer tekken's control scheme, and don't see how that, or even mk's controls would work for tekken fighters. probably not gonna happen anyway.

didn't like tekken 5 or dark resurrection? i agree 4 was kinda weak, but the series bounced back. and 6 looks pretty good.

I liked Tekken 5 for a while but it just lost it's appeal after a few months. It felt too much like all the others. that's the thing I don't like about Tekken, the games are essentially the same thing with little tweaks as it goes along. At least Raven was badass though.

It wouldn't be good. Gameplay mechanics aren't just compatible. It would take more than just a total revamp in each side to make these two come to a clash.
You see, 3D beat'm ups are just not as easy to crossover each other as 2D are.

I'd hit it!
Granted; what I'd be looking for would pretty much boil down to a Tekken game with a more involving story and MK characters in it; but it'd still be super!

That is a good point...Tekken characters aren't superhuman. What this means, when you really come down to it, is that they have no special moves. No fireballs, no teleports...all they do is punch, kick, and grab.
Thus they're incompatible for an MK game.

They all have projectile moves as of Tekken 6; some more palatable than others.
It's also worth remembering that there are plenty of allusions to the fighters who harness ki, perhaps the most prevelant being the hit bursts. Conceptually it's reasonable enough to assume they could all fight on the same level, even if there are some balance issues to consider.
Personally I'd be happy to sacrifice five bullshit special moves for decent, logical, character driven fighting styles.

But that wouldn't do much against the more godly characters in MK, Fujin, Raiden, Shinnok, Blaze, Jinko and the powerful ninjas like Scorp, Sub, Ermac etc

Tekken died out for me.
Theres no gore at all in that
game, so it wouldn't make sense
for Midway to make a crossover
for that purpose anyway.
