The balance would be fucked over royally. And MK needs balance in gameplay above such trivial desires as ninjas/characters from every game. Most of them should be killed off instantly anyway.

if they did it right then it may work...kinda like how Capcom did that version of Street Fighter 2 with different incantations of every character. Meaning the game in the end would ultimately use the umk3 engine but the mk2 characters would either not have dial-a combos. But I don't think that is what is stopping them from doing it. I think it's because they can't use the actors from the previous games in a new game. I think some of the actors from mk1 and mk2 tried to get royalties for the home versions and future releases.

I'm sticking with this. Armageddon was MK Trilogy 2. If you want something like this to happen again, at least title this thread MK Trilogy 3 not 2.

why bother putting different versions of the characters? not to be mean but that's almost as stupid as MK vs DC. It makes less sense than Armageddon did.

Some people may like the MK2 version of Scorpion better than MK1 and MK3!

They can be alternates instead of having a different version of the same character.

What im thinking of is something like dbz budakai tenkiachi.

Were you select the character then choose which version you want.

He has a point... i didn't like the UMK3 Ninjas. Too retro... the only thing they got right was the mask. But no... MK2 Ninjas all the way

if there was another trilogy game there would have to be alot of characters from mk mythologies,special forces,all the konquest games,maybe some of the characters be made from lesser enemies from the adventure games like for instance the red dragon clan mutant dragonmen or the oroichi beasts...however its spelled. it would kinda be cool for a game like this to come out but i wouldnt expect a story line for it. an idea to take the place of storyline...instead of revealing an ending at the end of the game they could reveal the history of that character. i would also make a game like this on next gen consoles so it could handle the amount of characters.
i do understand what people are saying about it but yet i dont care. armagedon i thought was a great game and i look at is as armagedon and not as trilogy 2. so,if done the right way and with the right graphics i think another trilogy could be an epic win.

i dont think the konquest and special forces characters could work, they are 3d models while the other games use sprites. wouldnt work.

This idea sounds like it would be a waste of:
a) Time
b) Effort
c) Money

how could there be a third trilogy when we're technically only on game 8?
