In the costume customization. Seriously, it seems like everyone has some sort of problem with the majority of the MK9 costumes. Well the same thing happened with Soul Calibur and Tekken, so what did Namco do? They added costume customization, giving you options for tweaking each costume to your liking. Now honestly, I'd like ti to be more limited like Tekken 5, where you could change the costumes without completely trashing the characters individuality. Unless of course you WANT Scorpion to be dressed up like Sub Zero. Or for someone to make Jax just look like a generic thug. Either way, the general idea should be implemented in future MK games, it would cut down on a great percentage of the whining

Sorry, but I'm just too used to the old tradition of "this is what they looked like in that game, and this is what they look like in this game". The only thing I'd be happy with is more alternate costumes, but with less differences between them. Like you could have Sonya with an undershirt and no undershirt, or Kung Lao with a hat and no hat. That would be a better solution, not full customization.

A lot of the customisations in Tekken are crap, wacky stuff. Some are cool though. I like being able to "tweak" things to your taste, without making the character unrecognisable.

However, it makes it harder for them to add in battle damage and stuff.

Given that the people making this game don't have limitless resources, I'd say the best approach is to concentrate on making good individual character models. I read that they intend to add extra costumes and characters as DLC. That's really cool.

Im not against customisation of characters.

trouble is they need to take a leaf out of Virtua Fighter 5. Not SC and Tekken.

Virtua Fighter's character customisation pisses all over the Namco Twins. Because it makes the character look like a new character without making them look retarded.

I mean I can have a "Tropical Tan" Sarah wearing a black catsuit with red hair Vs Caucason Akira bare chested in samurai trousers with Kurt Cobain hair.

On the flip side minor alts would be great as well. But that would be from Dead or Alive really.

I mean Tekken had some interesting stuff but you had to buy it all. Even if you wanted it in a different colour. And Im stingy.

Soul Calibur's stuff was great for creating your own characters but you put that stuff on one of the real SC characters it didn't look right.

I'd love this. Just have every classic costume piece available in the set. I want to re-live MK2 in this age's graphics. For the characters who came in at MK3, have their MK3's avail. MK1? Have them in there. Then some generic stuff if you wanted to downgrade the MK4- characters (Quan Chi should have his MK4 blue suit available, etc)

To those who say it would look boring, imagine the lighting effects of the quilted tunics from the MK2 ninjas, etc.

Heres a suggestion! Dont change any of the costumes then. Problem solved.
