I find it incredible and amusing that there actually still are some resented and stubborn fans who insist that MKvsDC was a waste.

Same...

What Shadaloo said was right... Those who are constantly bashing against this game, saying it was a waste or it sucked only said it because of the lack of gore...

But, for those saying that this game sucked, answer me this... Would the game be better if they did allow the fatalities to be like they are in the MK series in this game? The amount of gore that was featured in the previous games be featured in this one? To be honest, I think it would have made the game sucked. Yeah, it really would. "Oh I'm gonna finally decapitate Superman!" Yeah, makes perfect sense...

If you took DC out and added gore, it still wouldn't have been near my top favorite MK games. There was still too much missing to make it feel like a complete MK game.

All it had to make it Mortal Kombat were the MK characters, the stages, and the fatalities. Where are all the secrets and unlocks? Shao Kahn and Dark Seid are not good enough unlocks for me. Not one bit. I played MKvsDC just to say I could beat it. I haven’t touched the game in months. There is no replay value in this game.

The stage transitions were a forced feature of the game. Almost every damn arena had it in there. It’s very stupid that someone can beat your ass while falling, but if they switch around with you, despite the ass whooping, you take ALL the damage. It was a nice plan but not executed to my liking. Test your might was incredibly lame and I hope that version of it never comes back again. Ever. I can thank the super heros for bringing that one into the game, I'm sure of that.

The game play wasn’t all that bad, but somehow when I pick up the controller, I don’t feel like I’m playing Mortal Kombat. Maybe that’s a good thing? If it’s compared to MKA, yes. But somehow I love playing MKD over any of the new MKs (with the exception of combo breakers). I can’t explain why it feels better for me to play, it just is.

The RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE. Absolutely RETAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRDED. I shouldn’t have to explain. It’s worse than Tekken 6’s low health boost garbage. If you’re about to lose, you should have fought better. You don’t deserve an advantage at the last minute to beat someone who is just plain better than you. Get practice.

Combo Breakers are just as pathetic as ever. Players should have to work for a breaker. Not just press two buttons and destroy a whole combo string. Combo breakers should get removed completely. Players should have to anticipate the opponent’s attack and know how high/medium/low to do the counter move.... Like in REAL martial arts. I wish it was easy like that in real life to just scream out COMBO BREAKER and stick my hand out so that the person hitting me in my face will magically get knocked back.....

The storyline did not draw me in at all like the previous MKs. That’s one of the biggest attractions MK has for me: is its unique and interesting conflict and side stories of every character. We didn’t get that, at all. I’d rather read a 500 page book about MK Armageddon than play through MKvsDC’s story mode ever again. And that’s saying a lot.

No they didn't
Reasons Why:
1) They worked with WB which saved a lot of their own jobs when Midway died and went to publisher heaven.
2) Best pure fighting MK for quite a while.
3) Best production values in a 3D MK game.
4) We got Alex Ross to paint Raiden.
5) John Tobais came back for a premium thing.

And besides Shang Tsung, MKvsDC had the best voice acting and scripting a Mortal Kombat game has ever seen.

Do you know how hilarious it was to hear Scorpion go "You cannot harm me...but I WILL SHOW YOU THE MEANING OF PAIN!"

7 Reasons why your wrong

1. It made money
2. We got a good game.
3.Gore isn't the only thing that makes a game.
4. I doubt u played it. So your opinion lacks credibility.
5.This game probably helped production of MK9.
6.This topic doesnt belong in the future MK games discussion.
7.Comparing the DCU to Sex in the City is a Chewbacca argument.

I guess you did one good thing. You got a bunch of MK fans to put aside their differences to gang up on you.

It was a top selling game for Midway. Totally not a waste.
I couldn't (and still can't) stand the concept, but I cannot deny it was a well put together game. The only thing I really didn't like was the music. To me, it was pretty uninspiring. That and the Klose Kombat (seemed kinda pointless to me and broke up the otherwise fast pace of the game). Other than that, I liked the actual gameplay. Wasted their time? The sales and the MANY fans the game has would say otherwise.

Personal opinions should stay out of the decision upon whether or not something was a waste(I really worded this weirdly. But you still got the point.)

I didn't personally care for the game, but I still don't think it was a waste.

IMO, It would be a waste if:

1) Horrible, horrible reviews
2) No one buys it
3) People buy it, but not enough money comes in
4) There was no reason to make it

Anyway, why are we talking about this now? It's has been out for a while.

Because for some reason no one placed this in the right form and or no one feels like closing it at the current moment?
