MIdnight Tourney
So as many other gamestops, my local gamestop here in Brooklyn NY held a tourney, and i fricken won it!
I played Grandmaster Sub-Zero, and won 10 matches in a row 10th one being best of 3, i never won anything MK related, so to me this was extra special. I gave my free copy out to a friend who came with me also :)
It was a blast, and i honestly had such a great time, and to see such a big turn out for MK brought me back to the old days. I hope everyone got a copy and is enjoying this wonderful game

I couldn't participate in the tournament because I'm an employee but I did manage to pull off a brutality with D'Vorah.

That's awesome man! i am sure you wanted to participate though, but i get why you couldn't. It was great being around other fans, but to be able to win...i just didn't think it would happen, but i am proud of myself, and i was happyi could help a friend get a free copy.

Yeah tell me about it. I honestly wasn't expecting a free copy or anything but when I won MK9's I got $25 instead of $10, and that turnout was worse than MKX's by far. Logic?

Congratulations man. I also won my local Gamestop MKX tournament as well. I used Shiru Ryu Takeda and I did brutalities on all of my opponents. There was 16 people that enter. It was great. This was also my first time winning a MK tournament. I did win a few Capcom and SNK tournaments in past though but this was MK. I won a $50 gift card and I used that towards my pre-order for Batman: Arkham Knight. Plus I bump into three of my buddies that I haven't seen in a long time. Picked up my Kollectors Coarse Edition. Such an awesome night.

Stories like this make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside and remind me why I love Mortal Kombat in the first place.
It's like stepping back in time when everyone huddled around an arcade cabinet and ooh'd and awww'd at that one dude that would wreck everyone that dared to place a quarter inside only to get beat flawlessly and fatalitied.
The MK community as whole is not a terrible one but it just so happens that the whiners tend to be the loudest? MKO is that niche corner that reminds me not everyone is an asshole even though we have our share of them I said before their tune would change once they play MKX and I still believe that now.
Currently at work I'll be picking up my copy as soon as Gamestop opens up today ^___^

The highlight of my night was watching a shit-talking spamming Scorpion player lose in front of his wife and kids.
Dude was such an asshole. Then the excuses started rolling out afterwards.

Does this also so mean they will not age until the next Mortal Kombat Tournament is held?

I was fortunate enough to win the tourney here in Springfield, IL. I used A-list Johnny, the competition was decent considering none of us had much of a chance to practice.

All it takes is some caffeine! Its 4:30 am where I am and I plan to stay up all night because I have an assignment due by midnight, my local game store opens at 10am, and I have class at 1pm-4pm.
Not to mention the very unfortunate 2-day field trip which starts Wednesday.

HA thats funny this guy and his 3 kids came in, and his wife would not stop talking shit. I told him great thing to teach your kids, either shut up or leave. faced the father in the 7th game Gm Sub mirror, smoked him.

I came in second place.
My only practice was during the actual tournament, my opponent at the final already knew corner combo traps so he had waaaay more practice before the game's release, unfortunately. He was Reptile using the correct and only good Variation for him, "Noxious". Which chips health at close range, I never had a chance. And to add onto that, the button registering of the Playstation 4 was not so good for me but I still stuck with him in our "Best of 2/3". Heh.
