I loved Shang's MK2 soul steal, but I also liked his MK3 bed of spikes

I always imagined maybe he could combine them? Like grab you and steal your soul but instead of absorbing it he would morph it into spikes in the ground and then slam the body in.

Maybe he could leave like a small portion of the victim's soul in them so that they're still suffering and not have them already be dead so that it doesn't look like overkill. Have them look all gray and aged before slamming them into the spikes, and when he does maybe one goes through their mouth so they kinda choke-scream.

He could Throw them into the spikes, and then pick them back up, with them JUST alive, before stealing there soul, turning them into a Skeleton with blood all over it, before dropping them back into the spikes?

Well he doesn't have to be touching the subject to steal it's soul, so he would be able to just slam them on the spikes and steal the soul from there.

Well my idea was to incorporate his soul steal during the fatality instead of killing the person and then just absorbing it after, kind of goes into overkill territory. Having him transfigure the victim's soul into spikes to slam them in kind of adds a magical element to it as well. I mean obviously we'd expect him to just absorb the soul, not use it as a weapon. Just something different.

And yeah.. probably 95% of Shang's soul steals are without contact. It would be a nice homage to his MK2 fatality though.

Well maybe throw the victim into spikes and then steal the soul of the dying and pierced unfortunate victim?

I am quite disappointed with the lack of creative and original "magic fatalities" in MK since the stupid MK: Armageddon. There are just not enough "magical-supernatural" based Fatalities anymore. And most of the new ones we have are just incredibly underwhelming. Not as special as they were or could be.

It appears they are on the very right track with the creative direction for this game, however, so, I have high hopes that we will see some new twists on the classic magical fatalities and also 100% new ones.

Lets hope.
