Man I hope for God the WB dont get stupid and kill the dreams ed and his team had for M(K9)- by watering the extra violence the game is suppose to have. If they did, then I would have to say either they would have to redesign the whole game without the blood& strong violence by turning it into a complete fightin tournment from here out through each new mk game.
Or the crew can start their own business by leaving the WB so that their dreams and games dont get destroyed by any1. Also with their own company they may hav 2 remake a whole new game so similar to mk just the way they envisioned it. Plus we could get a better storyline from here out through each new game.

WB publishes F.E.A.R, one of the most violent games around so I think MK is safe.

WB is not going to let MK lose it's touch with its violence and gore. As Zoidberg said they produced F.E.A.R, even though I've never played the game, I have friends who played it and they said they can't resume it because they're that scared.

But there's nothing to worry about.

Yeah the WB will not kill the game violence and all and I have played both F.E.A.R. games...the second one made me drop the controller a few times.

First let me apologize in advance for the double post...I just did it to bring to attention an idea that came out of left field in my head and it is a bit off topic in some way but yet it is not. In another thread I just read over again for a second time I read about one of Hectors tweets about wanting a ESRB rating between M and AO...and I opened this thread to read it for a second time to refresh my thoughts and just after reading I look quick at the way you typed MK9 in the subject box and came up with this....
What if they actually mean M(K9) as a rating? Is it possible they are going to make a rating specially for MK for a second time? Just thought I would throw my thoughts out there and see what everyone else thinks about it.

Well, technically you are right it was not just for MK but I was speaking of the Sega Genesis version being MA-13...I believe it was the first to get such a rating. Regardless of any of that information, what if it really is a hint at a new rating? I mean Hec did tweet about his wanting a rating between M and AO for christmas and all you can think about is to question me about my half ill information lol. If they were to actually make another rating what would it be (MA-18?)and why would they do it? Is there going to be nudity? I am just trying to figure out why he would even want that rating...there has to be a reason.

i'm thinking the reason he said that is some of the violence in the game is over the top of a m rating game so either they will have 2 get another rating 4 the game or tone it down 2 a m rating it sounds like the violence level is going 2 b high in these game sounds good 2 me

I think it's more of a play on words because K9 sounds like canine, a common name for dogs. The dog force on police teams is even called K9. I don't think a new rating would even be necessary. Look at what Left 4 Dead 2 got away with. Some countries might ban it though. BTW I think its highly hypocritical of stores not to sell AO games but for them to sell unrated movies with sex and much more violence. It is very easy for minors to get a hold of unrated movies but nobody gives a damn about movies because they make people so much money.

I know what the whole K9 deal was about I was just saying that the way it was typed lead me to think the idea of a new rating. jmo1214 IMed me with a statement similar with other stuff said through out this thread and I responded...

"That may be possible but I still think there is more to it. In many of the newer games that are rated M...they put in details why its rated that level. I just looked at all of my games and my whole MA-18 idea wont fall through because on all M games the age is restriction is next to the rating already...like on Modern Warfare 2 for example it states its rated M and has 17+ on it. Also I noticed that they probably will not make a rating just because of the violence. In a lot of games the level of violence is explained. They tell you what kind of violence...I have seen intense violence, sexual violence and some just state violence in general.

I dunno, when some one says a game pushing for almost an AO rating that usually means intense sexual themes, nudity and strictly adult content. Some games like GTA4 and God of war...even Smackdown VS Raw has sexual themes but what I am saying is that there are ratings within the ratings so maybe that could be what they are talking about. There is a possibility though that a new rating could do some good for adult games in general. Like Zoid said in the thread, its stupid they don't sell AO games in any stores or anything. There is a difference between games and movies but they are both forms of entertainment that should be exploited equally.

Just remember... Kids these days are able to get their hands on M rated games than going to see a rated R movie...

You wish that both movies and games were equally exploited... I for one don't wish to see that.

Just because we have sex in movies, don't mean that they should suddenly appear in video games all of a sudden... Like I said, kids see more of what's in a M rated game than a R rated movie...

I disagree...clearly you don't watch a lot of movies or even just regular TV. Plus I don't know how informed you are of games but there are games with sex and such out already...it may be suggested or softened but its still sex (an example...go to ign.com and see the stuff about dragon age).
Also, you say it is easier for kids to get mature games...I say it is about equal in the sense because both games and movies are both streamed and pirated over the internet easily. Hell,a kid could get pure hardcore porn easier than a M rated game...come on now lol. I agree there are limits yes but the real reason people don't want this kind of thing to happen is because they would have to be more of a parent and get on your kids or whatever. It is up to parents to keep kids away from such content. All I can do now is just shake my head now... i have said what i need to say because the rest is obvious.

Clearly you're misjudged about how much TV and movies I watch in my life. So before assuming the wrong things, ask first... Thank you

Secondly, I'm perfectly aware of how much sexual content is featured in a game. It certainly doesn't take a rocket scientist to look on the back of a game and see what's being feature in a game. I just don't think kids should be subjected to that kind of material, even if the parent is perfectly aware on what they're buying for their kids... Shouldn't kids these days know what sex is when they're taking Sex Education in high school or whenever that class comes in their school life?

I just think that it's some what pointless to feature an actual sex scene in a video game just because it's certainly such a popular thing amongst teenage girls now and days. And that's all I have to say.

ok,you are right to say that i made an assumption of your tv and movie knowledge base and for that i apologize if it offended you. i would like to address to you though that these games being made with such content are specifically not made for kids in mind. as for you saying...

"even if the parent is perfectly aware on what they're buying for their kids... Shouldn't kids these days know what sex is when they're taking Sex Education in high school or whenever that class comes in their school life?"

actually, most kids know a whole lot more than you think they know. sorry but you just basically made almost no sense to me. the way you state this you make sex sound like its inhumane and the devils work or something. sex is a natural thing. Hell,if you go to a museum a lot of statues show body parts...i use to have a text book with topless women in it and that was before high school. see some kids do know what sex is now days and the ones that do not know are and will be curious by instinct. eventually they are bound to find out other ways of experiencing it so I don't know about you but i rather them watch it on a tv or game rather than actually doing it like all them under age pregnant girls on the springer show. anyways,it is a wave that is bound to happen...movies becoming like games and games like movies so it would be fitting for them to be treated as equal.
personally i hear where you are coming from though because i have young nieces and nephews that i would not like to see such stuff but that is what parental controls are for. sex does not appeal to everyone,i get it...but if its not your thing than do not play it. truthfully i do not see MK going that far in terms of actual sex acts but i could however see it having explicit behavior and nudity...maybe even removal of clothing or appendages for fatalities but that would be the limit i think. remember hec wants it to be "Between" M and AO...so it will not be porn if that is what your thinking lol.
EDIT: just on an ice-breaking note...i find it funny and a bit ironic that the topic relates to K9s and my screen name fits when dogs attack...not that i am attacking you icebaby lol. Full moon tonight...look out! heheh
EDIT2: I just thought of another thing...profanity might fit into MK somehow too. I could see the use of a whole lot of cuss words in MK. That might actually be an idea that fits...Cage called Goro an asshole for breaking his sun glasses in the first movie so maybe profanity is a part of this thought of wanting a rating pushed.
