You know what's sad? Liu Kang has aged, but Kitana has not. The feels when Liu Kang will die of old age someday, but Kitana will remain young.

I wonder how that will hinder their relationship.

If we want to hope for continuity, Kitana should still be butthurt at Raiden.

You can chalk it up to just Quan Chi forcing them to say those things, but I still don't see Kitana being so forgiving. Especially once she learns he had his hand in Liu's death as well.

Since Kitana doesn't seem so Princess Peach-y anymore going by some of her quotes, am I to assume that she and Liu Kang have their own mini-faction?

Well Kitana is like salty towards everyone I feel Liu might be the same until him and Kitana find each other or some shit like that. Then they make babies and then they both die again in mkx.

Liu to me gained huge relevancy when he died and came back in MKD. Hell even Dark Raiden was badass. Now I dislike nor care for either. I'm not mad or enraged they're in games. I just feel they lack and real depth. Sure it can be argued they belong for one reason or another. I guess I just liked them unjustly.

I think Liu and Raiden not being an unthinking zombie and a angry dick for no good reason makes them have a bit more depth, if anything.

It actually took away if anything. Raiden had been enraged over Shujinko's mistake by helping onaga with the kamidogu, putting earthrealm in jeopardy, and liu kangs death. Watching him align with Kahn was great.

And Liu? Well after his death he became awesome. Zombie liu had a whole new presence with the shackles and even more deep hatred for Shang Tsung. Man that to me was some of the best events.

Now... eh.

Now that he's aging, it fucks up the main reason why he went with Kitana in the first place in the original canon: to have someone by his side when he was immortal so he wouldn't be traumatized of watching his loved ones age and die while he remained young. I'm afraid their relationship is not going to last long...

I would wish Liu would feel that he has no place on Earthrealm anymore now that Cassie, Takeda, Jacqui & Kung Jin are the new protectors.

Maybe this time Liu will accept Kitana's offer in becoming the new king of Edenia. And perhaps have an offspring of their own.

I already have an idea for a Earthrealm/Edenian offspring of unknown parentage in the works for a MK future fiction after I'm done watching MKX and she's far from the generally boring good guy.

Sadly, you'd think that Shinnok would win due to having Liu Kang. In all honesty if it wasn't for the stories sake I think he could solo Raiden's whole crew.
