So the new tower is live, and as I predicted after seeing the fireworks last week, it's a Fourth of July themed tower called "Light Up The Sky". Basically it's a tower with various modifiers, except they all have fireworks style aesthetics. Such as the lightning hands looking like sparklers, the rocket modifiers looking like rocket fireworks, etc. Hell, the final battle is called "grand finale", and it's just a giant mess of fireworks going off everywhere.

So this made me realize that this was the first major holiday since the game came out... I mean, you could count Memorial Day, but not much you can do with that in MKX. So I wonder if we'll see a Halloween themed tower in October, with Mileena, Reptile, and Ermac in their horror costumes and Jason and Predator as opponents.

Meanwhile, next week will bring a Shaolin Monks tower... huh... guessing you'll play half the tower as Liu Kang and half as Kung Lao. Perhaps in their "tournament" costumes?
