I loved her flying furry punch lol it was like a punch version of Kang's bicycle kick to me, it was sick.

I do have some other characters that I want to see in first but I wouldn't mind seeing her in MKX.

She was cool and one of the best 3D era characters. I wouldn't mind seeing her return.

I'd like to see her, too. She's one of the few good-aligned characters originating from Outworld and I think she'd fit perfectly into a story where Outworld is supposedly in disarray over a civil war.

I'd just like for them to change her color scheme a bit. Purple/magenta was overdone in the PS2 era with Li Mei, Mileena, Kitana, and Sindel having them as the primary color in some of their costumes (I'm actually concerned about the same thing in MKX about yellow & black if Scorpion, D'Vorah, AND Tanya are all in). If she's going to be a good-aligned character, I'd like to see her in a very soft pink or even a salmon color.

Kitana needs to stick with blue. That purple costume was horrid. Mileena should stick with pink. And I doubt Sindel will be in MKX sadly. So I don't see a reason for Li Mei to switch colors.

She definitely should return. She's one of those characters that might be most affected by the changes in the timeline, if the Deadly Alliance doesn't come to be and neither Onaga nor his army are resurrected, and it would be interesting, imo, to see what could be done with her character in this new timeline.

I just had this idea for her role in MKX: she would be among those trying to claim the throne of Outworld, just so it could finally have a benevolent ruler, and to protect her village after it gets repeatedly invaded. But with power always come the risk of being corrupted.

In a way, this is a little similar to her MKD story, where her soul was tainted by inhabiting the body of one of Onaga's soldiers, but she wouldn't risk becoming someone else's lackey.

I'd rather have Bo' Rai Cho, Drahmin (deconfirmed), Havik or Frost instead of Li Mei. But I guess she would be okay anyway...

I like her fighting moves, but as a character and design she's terribly bland.

Li Mei is in what I call the "Jarek Camp."

A relatively good character in concept that never really went anywhere or played any substantial role, whatsoever, in timeline 1. Making them pretty bland characters outside of fighting.

If she comes back she needs a damn good reason to. Now, I'm not saying that in an antagonistic way, but rather that if they're going to trot out some of the "blander" characters, they better spice them up a bit! MK (2011) was about showing the classics and how they can be done right again. MKX is going to be about giving an effective roster to show the game can evolve, while still remaining good.

Li Mei is my favorite MK character. I would absolutely love to see her in MKX.

If she's in MKX as playable character, I will buy a PS4 to play her.

Do you always need to be smug towards everything? She's not a bad character at all. Sure her design could do a little tweaking but other than that she's not bad.

Remember that a lot of MK9 characters were pretty bland before that game such as Stryker, Jade, Smoke, Rain, and Sheeva.

Li Mei sucks

Wasn't being smug, I knew some fans liked her but never knew anyone would consider her their favorite. I was just genuinely surprised by it.

Li Mei was never one of my favorite, but I could easily see her playing a nice role in this game. As an Outworld citizen, I think she would play a central role in what's happening in the aftermath of MK9. She could have a nice re-design. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if she was boot #3 or 4. I could see her bringing a graceful, feminine presence to the roster....a void left by Kitana.

However, I would much rather see Tanya, Sareena, and Mileena. If there's enough room for another returning female, I think it would go to Li Mei.

I think Li Mei could have a good chance if she is remodeled with new weapons. moves, combo, and etc. I like her but she needs a makeover lol.

To be fair it did come across as dismissive and sarcastic. Yes though, Li Mei is my favorite character. Though I've been an MK fan since forever I've never liked MK character designs especially during the 90s. Li Mei appealed to me because she was so different from every other character in MK until that point.

I also like the character conceptually; a humble and unpretentious Outworlder. She changed my perception of Outworld characters which had all been until DA evil and grotesque murdering monsters from a desolate wasteland. She showed there was a LOT more to Outworld.

Am I the only person that truly despises her Deception ending? Also hoping that kind of ending never sees the day of light for her or any other character?

You know, it's going to sound funny, but this is the only reason why I don't care for her. Of course I just got done saying that she's not a bad character, however, that doesn't mean I don't care for the character. I don't care for Jade but she's not bad. See what I mean?

She had a great story, a slave fighting to save her people and she ends up losing in the end. She gets saved... but then this is where it bits it in the ass. The Dragon King's essence or whatever Dragon presence was inside of her as she was about to become one of those warriors made her feel attractive to Onaga. Which in the end after I saw that I turned to my stuffed tiger, Nellie and asked, "The fuck is that about?"

I thought, despite that her ending is blatantly non canon, still, I couldn't believe my eyes and my ears that I saw/heard this ending play out in front of me. I truly felt this destroyed her story and it got me not caring for her anymore.

But of course, she still plays great and I did enjoy her Deception's primary appearance. Her face could use some touching up but other than that yeah.

I just don't ever want to see that goddamn ending pop up for any reason. Let it rot in the past and hope that they can do something with her that does't have her asking for dragon booty tang.

For me it was how much she stood out conceptually from other female characters in MK up until DA. It was awesome to see a female character that wasn't condemned to a one piece leotard or gym-queen-spandex. In addition to that she also greatly expanded the scope of Outworld to me - like I mentioned before Outworld throughout the 90s to me was just some wasteland with a bunch of assholes living in it.

The emergence of Li Mei and her backstory showed there was a LOT more to Outworld than Tarkatans, Shokans, or whatever else. That's honestly been one of the more interesting things to see as time goes on is the slow revelation of Outworld. Oddly enough it's one of the reasons I like that Outworld market stage in MKX - shows some normalcy to Outworld life. Li Mei is just one of those normal Outworlders that just knows how to beat the crap out of people. She's not evil, she's not some freak with multiple arms or blades coming out of her, she's just an Outworlder.

I dunno...that's just how I see it.
