By now, most, if not all, are aware of Mileena's and Kitana's situation: the former received the Kiss Of Death and the latter is now Empress of Netherrealm. With these developments in mind, where does that leave these sisters' relationship?

Now looking back, this isn't the first time Mileena was killed. She was murdered shortly after the events of MK II and found herself in Netherrealm and was resurrected and served under Shinnok during the events of MK 3 and 4. Fast-forward to the new timeline and MK X, and we now have Mileena once again slayed. Assuming Mileena's soul finds it's way back to the Netherrealm, could we possibly see a scenario where she finally teams up with her sister since the elder sibling is now the underworld's queen? Or, would she attempt to steal Kitana's throne akin to the events of the Old Timeline, just this time we're in Netherrealm and not Edenia.

Of course, the main problem with this theory is with Shinnok being incapacitated at the moment and Quan Chi presumed dead, there's no one currently who can resurrect Mileena, unless a new character or revenant takes over that role (like maybe Nightwolf, but that's speculation for another time). Then again, Kitana may want nothing to do with Mileena, but based on Mileena's intros in MK X, at least the mad empress seems to have some soft spot for Kitana.
