He needs to have a real reason to be in the game rather than pleasing fans of Mortal Kombat 4. Like, they shouldn't be thrown into this game for the sake of having the cast of that game make a presence because the story sorta follows the original.

And since Liu Kang is the reason for him to be in this game... well... Of course they can always REWRITE how he comes in, but I seriously hope that there's a good reason. He was never a character I thought was interesting at all, and never really got the "next hero in line" vibe as much as everyone else does from him. If this character is supposed to be the next Liu Kang, they better well make him live up to that title. Otherwise, it's just another sorry excuse to bring back a fan favorite.
