uh, Johnny dosn't really need to be in the next MK. He's just a comic relief character.

for me he should remain, after all ed boon said that the next mk game will be very serious, and try to guess....in armageddon johnny cage is a serious character.
and even if mk 8 is serious,i don't see why a comic relief character is unappreciated.
it's not the atttude of a character that makes the difference, but the stupid things such like images(shang tsung smelly boths, kano'ggs, frost arctic gel, etc).
deleting theese, here's what boon intended, not kill off comic relief characters like cage and bo rai cho(both very cool characters!)

Agreed.
I wouldn't care if they killed cage off. He's never really done anything significant in the storyline; I think his comic relief character is dull and boring.

I would rather Johnny Cage not come back in future games. He's run his course and there are better characters to bring back. Some may see his finally taking things seriously in Armageddon as a new beginning...I see it as closure.

I don't think Johnny Cage needs to return, but I think he has more purpose than a guy like Scorpion, as Cage actually has development going for him. He was kind of the main protagonist in Armageddon, and if he returned, I could see him as kind of the returning good guy, helping out the new hero of Earthrealm.
However, Johnny Cage could very easily be written off after Armageddon, either sacrificing himself to save the realms, or just going into retirement after it is over.

He's just a waste of space.

a single character isn't a "waste of space".
Hotaru,Darius and dairou are waste of space.
they are boring and they looks like soul calibur fighters,i hate soul calibur.
Ashrah is useness.
no the first seven characters and johnnyu cage is between them.
street fighter 3 make the same thig of mk8,weeping out all characters and left only ryu and ken.
that game was a flop,so they make a expansion game with Guile,Chun Li and all major sf2 characters.
man do you want to understand that also Mokap has is fanboys?
i really don't see the sense of killing of characters.
I think that should happen a more gradual elimination of warriors, and not a full killing off at one shot.
and the armageddon thing doesn't seem to be convincent to me.

Although I'm glad that Johnny Cage got some real story and character development, it was a bit too late, and I'd rather see him live and retire, with the closure to his story being like that in his MKA ending.
Ugh....
First of all, how are Hotaru, Darrius, and Dairou a waste of space? How is Ashrah useless? They are far more interesting than Johnny Cage is, especially Hotaru and Ashrah.
You don't see the sense of killing off characters as you are stuck in the past and have little to no understanding of the story. Having so many super-powered kombatants, especially with them fighting in one place, endangers the stability of the realms as they are unknowingly tapping into the forces that make Reality possible, hence the quest to determine whether these kombatants should be killed or nullified of their powers.

JOHNNY CAGE is one of the original fighters from the earlier games and i think he should return to MK8 as well.

Why, because he's one of the original characters? If so, that means shit in terms of quality.

Stop bumping threads that are 3 months old or older. This is the second time in a short period I've responded to you about this. It looks like you're new so I'm not trying to be a big jerk about it...Just stop retrieving really old threads and read the faq more closely.
Thank you
