Since Quan Chi was revealed I've had a feeling the skull embedded in his armour is Shinnok's and we'll only see Shinnok right at the very start of the game as a cameo during the opening scenes. Fink's "Who's Shinnok?" comes across to me as him not wanting to spoil it that Shinnok actually makes it in but isn't playable because he dies, his death would be a surprise because almost everyone is expecting him to not just be in the game but also be a big player & playable.

As for him saying Liu is in- I think he is. MKX is about moving on, rivalries coming to a head, some old characters retiring and passing the torch, new rivalries being forged... Outside of Scorpian vs Sub-Zero, Liu & Shang is possibly the most one known rivalry in MK lore. Shang is rumoured to be in (because of the Gamestop ad), Liu was mentioned in an alleged leak last year, and it just makes sense that if one of those two is getting a swansong & being retired then MKX would be the ideal game to do it in with the whole "Passing the of the torch" angle. If that's right then I'm actually leaning towards hoping Liu's in in the guise of his MK9 ending and kills off Shang and an old ally or newcomer ends up being a rival to Liu.

Fujin is a must for inclusion; a brain damaged baboon would know that for a fact, so I'd expect NRS to know it and include Fujin in the main roster.

Reiko, again he's posted about him and it would make sense him being in because the Brotherhood of Shadows is one of the five factions and Reiko was the General.

Fink says that Takeda is in- but then again most people expect him to be.
