Noob saibot? Isn't he that character that is super popular? was heavily requested by both hardcore fans and casuals? And has a deep and interesting story within the MK franchise????? Why would he be included in this game in favour of guest and non-canon once off charcaters like tremor and triborg?

All I am hoping for is that this stupid triborg thing was created and sent by Noob to kick his brothers arse and try and take over the Lin kuie at least that way there would be some mention noob in MKX!

Why would it be Smoke when in this new timeline, Smoke NEVER became a cyborg?

As far as the name Tri-Borg, I do hope that there is a different name. It sounds as if a kid named this character. Image a MK fan drawing a picture of the cyborgs and his daddy asks, "Who's That?" the kid in turn would reply "That's Tri-Borg Daddy."

I do hope and wish it is Noob Saibot. It would be totally awesome! But so far this is Tri-Borg. The robot may be gray, and yellow but Smoke couldn't possibly be one of the three robots in the mix. In MK9, he was never a cyborg and at the end of MK9 he was killed and the spirit within him took over, this Enemra being and now Smoke fights for NetherRealm. That is why it cannot be Smoke. If it in fact turns out to be Smoke, then NetherRealm completely have went off track with their story.

The video's description confirms the character's name is Tri-Borg and it's that that's Smoke. But regardless, it's a non-canon DLC character: how does this affect the story in the slightest?

He's not considered canon yet. It's just a throwback(Chameleon) way to include the Cyborgs in X without affecting the story. Maybe they'll make him canon eventually but MKX writer Brian Chard said he wasn't canon as of now.

What part of officially confirmed it's Smoke do you not understand? It's SMOKE. It doesn't matter that he wasn't Cyber in this timeline. The grey variation of Tri-Borg is Smoke.

As for his name, as I mentioned in the other Tri-Borg thread, you have;

- 3 ice powered ninjas called Sub-Zero, Tundra and Frost.

- A lizard man named Reptile.

- A chick who wears green called Jade.

- A smoke powered ninja called Smoke.

- A fire monster called Blaze.

- A dude who has earth based powers called Tremor.

(And while I remember, a ninja with water based powers called Rain and a lady ninja in red called Skarlet)

Tri-Borg fits just fine.

If it's non canon, why won't they include Cyber Zero too then ? Maybe if it's Smoke the story will be something like Sektor's ending from MK:A. Check it here:

Also Sektor's Star Wars swords belong to Takeda now, so pretty much Sektor is fucked up a lil bit.

those are bad examples. Triborg is awful and doesnt fit. Qould have been better off naming him "LK978" or something like in mk9

How are they bad examples? They're all MK chars. And he very well may have a number assigned to him. We don't know yet.

Comeon guys how hard is it to understand the new robot is not noob saibot, he is not smoke, he is not Sektor and he is not Cyrax. These charcaters are all popular, interesting and canon why would they include one of them when they could include an all new non-canon once off gimmick character like triborg???? Think about it people!!!!!!!

It's true. He's not any one of those characters directly and that in itself takes away from the appeal. For me at least.

But on the other hand, they did the most efficient thing they could with two more guest characters taking up spots. Cyrax, Sektor, and Smoke are all on the higher end of general popularity.

OT: How would any other option be better than Smoke? Cyborg. Smoke. Man. Not to mention the official description. I've seen it argued that it's Hydro or Cyber Sub, and now Noob?

Noob is better much better and I really can't understand why he didn't get included. He is so popular with the fans and very recognisable and popular with casuals too everyone loves a shadow ninja, he would definitely have sold better then Bo, triborg, leatherface and probably even better then alien/Baraka.

Uh well guess us noob fans will have wait another 3.5 years to play as him again..........if he even makes the next game.......

I have female friends who never played MK and who Noob Saibot is! Almost all people like 95% that I know know who is Noob! Hes popular as Scorpion and Sub-Zero and Goro, at least in my country.

Yes, they're not the "official" Sektor, Cyrax and Smoke, it's just a way we can play them in a non canonical way.
