No he is not a vampie because he is Satan but to the netherrealm he is known as Shinnok. Quan Chi has a vampire skull on his chest that gives him his powers. It makes him stronger.

The points you bring up are indeed things reminiscent of a vampire, but he isn't actually a vampire.

I always pictured him as MK's take on Satan. An Elder god who does something not good and was eventually sent to the Netherrealm. He kind of reminds me of that Satan fellow, wasn't he an angel who did something bad and eventually got sent to hell?

Well, I'm not all knowledgeable about biblical lore, but what I learned from Supernatural was that Lucifer basically questioned and defied God, and got cast down. So yeah, I guess it's kind of similar, but I'm sure Shinnok acted a lot more maliciously.

But on that note, Lucifer is a part of MK lore, isn't he? I remember reading that after Shinnok was banished to the Netherrealm, he defeated Lucifer and took over as the ruler of the Netherrealm.

I already settled this in the official shinnok thread I posted. He's count chocula.

I'd say the whole crossed-arms pose is meant to evoke coffins in general and not vampires in particular; MKX added to his character giving him a fixation on death in general, so that fits. There are some slight resemblances to classic vampire imagery, though I'd state a lot of his pre-established traits fit the mold very well and contributed to that.
